Rosemont's 2nd Annual Turkey Trot Fundraiser
We are in the middle of our 2nd Annual Turkey Trot Fundraiser for Rosemont! The actual Turkey Trot will take place on Friday, November 20th. This year, we are raising funds for new school walkie talkies, supplies for students and staff, and reward/incentive activities and events for students and staff. (We will send more information about the actual event closer to that time inviting you to come to school to participate with your child at the grade level designated time.)
We have sent home a fundraiser packet with each student. There was a letter explaining our fundraiser, a paper with a QR Code for online donations, a form to send in email addresses for friends and family to school (School staff will send the information to your friends and family members so they can donate online for you if you so choose.), a form to keep track of donations, and a collection envelope for cash donations due on Friday, November 20th. Here is the online donation link as well:

We are actively looking for businesses to sponsor our Turkey Trot. If you know of a local business who may be interested, please email me at ejpropst@k12.wv.us and I will send you a sponsorship form.
We appreciate your help in raising funds for our school! Thank you in advance for helping us to make our Turkey Trot a success! As we raise funds, please watch for turkeys to appear in the front of our school...

*Character Pillars:
The Character Pillar for November is RESPECT. We will be wearing yellow on Wednesdays throughout the month.
*Attendance:
Daily attendance is critical to every student's success in school. If your child must miss school, please be sure to send in a note with your child when they return explaining why they were absent or submit online at https://www.berkeleycountyschools.org/o/bcs/page/absencenote.
*Ways to Promote Tolerance and Respect in Your Child:
- Make your child feel special, safe, and loved. - Don't use words of praise or affection sparingly. A loved child learns to love others.
- Teach your child about new places, people, and cultures. - Expose him or her to different perspectives through books, music, food, and cultural events. Intervene when you hear or see intolerant behavior and encourage healthier ways to interact with others.
- Use positive comments to shape and reinforce your child's behavior. Instead of saying -No," offer helpful alternatives, such as "Be gentle, please." or "Why don't you take turns?"
- Model tolerance and respect. - Your child will learn how to interact with others by watching how you discuss, relate to, and value people.
