A Word From Dr. Clune

Dear PV East Parents and Guardians,

Bingo Night is TONIGHT from 7:00 - 9:00PM in the cafeteria. Drop off and Pick Up will be on the bus loading platform. Students should enter by the Main Stairwell doors. Tonight will be a lot of fun! Many thanks to East H&S Association for sponsoring this event.

Ramadan Mubarak. We are mindful that Ramadan begins on Sunday, March 10th and we want to create a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone. For those students who are observing this month of prayer and fasting, we will permit them to spend time in the library or counseling center during their lunch periods. Please speak to your child's counselor or adminstration if your child needs additional accommodations or support during this month.

March is 'Music in Our Schools' Month. There are a number of theme days and activities planned.

Spirit week is March 11-15 -

  • Monday - Blues Day
  • Tuesday - Decades Day
  • Wednesday - Country Music Day
  • Thursday - Favorite Color - "I see ME in Music Education."
  • Friday - Favorite (school appropriate) group, band, music-related t-shirt

Please note that Homework Club has changed their days to Tuesday & Thursday. Math Lab has their days on Monday and Wednesday. That means that student can recieve support afterschool on Monday through Thursday.

And finally, spring is coming. We will soon be breaking ground on our new garden in the front of PV East. If you are interested in having a personalized brick, please use the link below.

Sincerely,

Seamus Clune, Ph.D.

SAFE2SAY

We reviewed our Safe 2 Say program last week. Our students viewed the video below during their Advisory period.

Our students can submit an anonymous tip through the Safe2Say Program. Tips are typically related to a variety of challenges our students experience or witness, such as bullying, harassment, disrespectful language, safety concerns, etc. When a tip is received, the State (who runs Safe2Say) immediately follows up with building administrators.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

Did you know that the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisit Lifeline?

When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.

https://988lifeline.org/current-events/the-lifeline-and-988/

The previous Lifeline phone number (1-800-273-8255) will always remain available to people in emotional distress or suicidal crisis.
