Assalamu Alaikum!

Dear NISL Families,

We want to make sure you’re fully informed about your student’s attendance and assignment status. Please check your email for the Google Classroom invitation. Be sure to accept the invitation and select whether you’d like to receive summaries weekly or daily for all of your children.

If you did not receive an invitation or need help accessing summaries, please contact your child’s teacher or the main office.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

This is a reminder that our first Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, September 25th and Friday, September 26th. Please mark your calendars!

We are using PTCFast to schedule conferences. Please use the link below to sign up and complete all steps until you receive a confirmation email:

https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Nur_Islamic_School_1

Middle & High School Families: We will be holding Team Conferences for middle and high school students, where you can meet with all of your child’s teachers at the same time. This format allows for a more comprehensive discussion of your child’s progress.

What is Ci3T? An Introduction for New Families

At NISL, we are committed to supporting every student in their growth academically, behaviorally, and socially. To help us achieve this, our school uses the Comprehensive, Integrated, Three-Tiered (Ci3T) Model of Prevention.

This model provides a structure of support for all students, combining three key elements:

  • Academic success through strong instructional practices
  • Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to guide student behavior
  • Social-emotional learning through the Positive Action program

At the heart of Ci3T are our School-Wide Expectations:

  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible
  • Be Your Best

These expectations are detailed in our School-Wide Expectation Matrix, which explains what these behaviors look like in different areas of the school. You’ll also see posters displayed around the building to remind students daily.

We encourage families to review and reinforce these expectations at home, as this partnership between school and home is vital to helping students thrive. For more details, please see our Ci3T Brochure, and look out for ongoing updates about Ci3T throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Aisha Blagaia
