April 1: Monday Magi Messenger
April 1, 2024

Week of April 1, 2024
Superintendent's Monday Magi Message
Happy Monday Magi Families
Welcome back from spring break! I hope you all had a nice time with your families. As we enter into the final stretch of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to emphasize the importance of staying informed and involved in your child's education. The next two months are incredibly critical for students as they wrap up the academic year and prepare for assessments and activities. To ensure you stay updated on all the happenings in our schools, I encourage you to read through the Monday Magi Messenger each week. It will provide valuable information about upcoming events, projects, and initiatives taking place in our buildings.
On a lighter note, I wanted to share a delightful flashback to our December drama presentation of "A Christmas Carol." It was truly a joy to witness our talented students bring the classic tale to life on stage. Some of you may recall that I even had the opportunity to join in on the fun, portraying the character of "Old Joe." It was a memorable experience for me, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to connect with our students in such a creative way. This flashback helps me to look ahead, I'm excited to announce upcoming productions of "Goldilocks on Trial" scheduled for April 19th and/or April 20th. Our students have been working tirelessly to bring this story to the stage, and I have no doubt it will be a performance to remember. I encourage you all to mark your calendars and join us for what promises to be an evening filled with laughter, entertainment, and perhaps a few surprises!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we can ensure that these next two months are busy and incredibly rewarding for our students.
Have a magical week,
Mrs. Kowalski
April Brings Flowers... But State Testing, Too
As we approach the upcoming state testing period, I want to emphasize the significant impact these assessments have on our students and our entire community. State testing goes beyond simply evaluating academic performance—it serves as a crucial measure of the effectiveness of our educational programs and the overall health of our schools and the Colon community. I urge you to prioritize ensuring that your children are well-rested and present at school for these assessments. State testing plays a pivotal role in gauging your child's academic progress and the effectiveness of our educational programs. Your cooperation in ensuring your child's attendance and readiness for these tests is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Solar Eclipse Message To Families
🌞🌕 Earlier this week, our brilliant students from STEAM had the privilege of presenting to Superintendent Kowalski about safety measures for the upcoming eclipse. 🌒
Please read our letter regarding Safety Precautions for the Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024

Thank you, Robotics Team Sponsor Mrs. Jordan!
Exciting News from the CHS Robotics Team! We're bursting with pride for our amazing robotics coach and student representing CHS at the First Robotics Competition in Ann Arbor at Skyline High! Even though CHS had only one student attending, just like some other schools, the spirit of collaboration and support was incredible. Other teams graciously donated players so that everyone could be part of a full team. This camaraderie truly embodies the essence of the robotics community, where teamwork and inclusivity reign supreme. We are proud of the opportunities like Robotics that we provide for our students here at CHS.

Updated: March 19, 2024: In this document, you will find the most up-to-date financial aid information from all Michigan institutions (as they submit data). Given the Better FAFSA delays, current seniors and their families understandably hesitate to make crucial economic decisions without all the necessary information at hand. We will continue to update information as it becomes available or changes over the next several months.
