Eagle Express
Dear Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for STEAM Night this week! It was wonderful seeing our families dive into hands-on learning from dissecting owl pellets and creating marbled art with shaving cream to engineering the perfect boats.
We want to extend a special thank you to our community partners, SVSU STEM and CAN Council, for their support. This evening wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of our incredible staff. A huge shout-out to the planning and volunteer team:
Ms. Rousseau, Mrs. Raines, Mrs. Doyle, Ms. Tweddle, Ms. Frost, Ms. V, Mrs. Mason, Mrs. Mahoney, Mrs. Annear, Mr. Clarey, Ms. Rivera, Ms. Lewis, and Ms. Muylle.
Get ready for the 5th Grade Musical! Mrs. Streby and our talented Eagles are excited to take the stage on March 19th. Please join us at the following times:
6:00 PM: Classes of Baniel, Doyle, and Horning
7:00 PM: Classes of Clark and Annear
Make it a great weekend, Eagles!

STCS Parent/Guardian Perception Survey open
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Our district will be participating in a survey called the MI Student Voice Parent/Guardian Perception Survey from March 9th to March 28th. Topics covered in the survey fall into four categories: Parent/Guardian Satisfaction, Parent/Guardian Involvement, Student Engagement & Connection, and Belonging.
In addition, students in grades 3-12 are taking the MI Student Voice Perception Survey, which will capture information about their school experience, focusing on the areas of Engagement, Belonging, and Social-Emotional Learning. Our school educators will also be participating in a survey regarding their school experiences.
We believe that using these surveys will allow our district to have a more holistic approach to improving measures of school quality in our school improvement plans.
Please complete a survey for each school you have a child attending.
The MI Student Voice Parent/Guardian Perception Survey can be completed online using a computer, tablet, or mobile device. The anonymous survey is designed to protect your privacy and the privacy of your student(s). The survey has under 40 questions and is expected to take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
While participation is voluntary, we encourage all parents/guardians to take part in the survey, as we hope to gather meaningful information about your experiences.
Please note: The link will be active starting FRIDAY, MARCH 9TH.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s school principal.
Thank you,
Jamie Hales
Director of Curriculum and Learning

Believe. Achieve. Soar on Spring Assessments
The ultimate challenge is almost here, and we need your alliance on this journey! This April, our Eagles are taking on state assessments (M-STEP and MI Access). The best way you can support your favorite contestant is by making sure they are present, rested, and ready to show what they can do.
Here is the testing schedule for our grade-level tribes:
3rd & 4th Grade Tribe: April 8th & 10th (ELA & Math)
5th Grade Tribe: April 9th, 14th, 15th, & 16th (ELA, Math, Science, & Social Studies)
To give every student the best possible environment to outwit, outstudy, and outshine this challenge, we ask that you avoid scheduling appointments or optional absences on these critical days.
With our whole tribe working together, we know our students will Believe, Achieve, and Soar! The tribe has spoken. Go Eagles!
