Tiger Talk
04/28/26
Kona Ice @ the Book Fair 3:20 - 6:00 pm Tuesday!
Dear WCHE Tiger Families
We need your help. Please help us to keep our Tigers safe.
We have found that it is not safe for parents to parallel park along Sabino at dismissal time. It is not safe for our Tigers who walk, bike, or scooter home to pass through traffic on Sabino, and Sabino is not a safe location for loading Tigers into motor vehicles.
If your Tiger(s) should be riding home with you in your vehicle, please join the car rider line and pick up your Tiger(s) at the front entrance of the school. The car rider line moves very quickly, and if you join the line around 3:05 - 3:10, you will likely zip right through and be on your way in no time.
If you wish to pick up your Tiger(s) from the walker door, please park in one of our parking lots instead of parallel parking along Sabino. An alternative for easy and safe pick-up is to park at the West Cypress Hills park and have your Tiger(s) meet you at the park.
I know that we all want our Tigers to feel safe and be safe on their way home. Thank you for your cooperation.
With warmest regards,
Amy Russ, Principal
Tomorrow, April 29, is TEAM UP DAY

Thanks for being PAWSitive!
Tigers demonstrating PAWSitive behavior are nominated to have their names added to our WOW Board. WOW Board members are then eligible to win a fun brag tag and Buddy Pass. The Buddy Pass entitles each WOW Board member to enjoy lunch on the stage with a buddy of his/her choice.
The photo above is of our WOW Board #17 for the 2025-2026 school year. Congratulations, Tigers!
Looking Forward to the New School Year!

School Library Advisory Council
In response to Senate Bill 13, our Board of Trustees has established the Lake Travis ISD School Library Advisory Council (SLAC.) The purpose of the SLAC is to formalize a collaborative process between librarians, parents, and community members in the ongoing development of strong library collections that support student achievement and meet state standards. This process helps ensure transparency, parent involvement, and a strong library program that strengthens student achievement while nurturing a lifelong appreciation, habit, and love of reading.
The SLAC works with librarians and district staff to develop a recommended list of library materials for procurement, including donated titles. At least 30 days before the Board’s vote, the proposed procurement list will be made publicly available for parents and community members to review and provide feedback. The Board will review these recommendations, consider any proposed changes, and make the final decision to approve or reject the materials. The SLAC will also recommend procedures for handling challenges to library materials and review challenges according to law before making recommendations to the Board.
Visit the SLAC webpage to access the Proposed Titles for Library Procurement List, Proposed Titles for Library Procurement List Feedback Form, and the Library Materials Challenge Form.
For questions or additional information regarding SLAC reviews or library material challenges, please contact Tasha Barker at watersbarkert@ltisdschools.org, or at 512-533-6036.
