Dear Farnham Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We are excited to welcome both returning and new families to our wonderful Farnham community. Our first day of school is Thursday, August 14th, and we can’t wait to kick off a fantastic year of learning, growth, and connection.

Here are a few important details to help you prepare:

  • Gates open at 8:05 AM, and school begins promptly at 8:15 AM.

  • We kindly ask that all family members exit the campus promptly after drop-off so we can secure the campus and begin our day safely and smoothly.

  • To our new families: I invite you to join me in the Multipurpose Room at 8:15 AM for a Principal Coffee Chat. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet one another, learn about Farnham’s culture and values, and hear from our Home and School Club, who plays an essential role in supporting our students and staff throughout the year.

We are also thrilled to share that Measure R construction is nearly complete at Farnham! Thanks to the support of Cambrian residents and voters, our campus has undergone an incredible transformation over the past three summers. With new HVAC systems, cabinetry, countertops, windows, blinds, TVs, carpet, flooring, paint, restrooms, and a new playground, our learning spaces are more beautiful, comfortable, and modern than ever before. We are deeply grateful to our community for making these improvements possible. Your support of Measure R, passed in November 2020, has helped ensure our Falcons have the facilities they need to thrive.

Here’s to a joyful and successful school year ahead. We are so glad you’re here.

Be well,

Amy O'Hehir

Farnham Principal

Who Is Your Child's Teacher? Who Is Your Child's Teacher?

zoom_out_map

Student class lists/assignments will be posted on the Farnham website and the Front Office windows on Tuesday, August 12th after 6 pm. You will be receiving an email from the district office on Friday, August 8th with your child's six digit student number which you will use to identify their specific classroom assignment.

Whatever classroom your child is placed in this school year, you can be assured that they will have a teacher who will provide them with an excellent educational experience and a caring environment to support their growth and development.

TK/Kinder Modified Schedules

From August 14th to September 5th, all TK and Kinder students will have an early dismissal of 11:40am to help them gradually adjust to a full school day. The first full day of class will be on September 8th.

Attendance Is Important

Consistent school attendance is key to success for your child. Ensuring your child is on time and in attendance on the first day of school is very important. If a student is NOT in attendance on the first day of school, they will be dropped from enrollment at the end of the day UNLESS we receive communication from their parent/guardian regarding the reason for their absence. If your child has five unexcused absences during the first week of school, August 14th-20th, your student will be dropped from enrollment at the end of the day on August 20th. If your child is dropped for any reason, you will need to re-enroll your child with the Cambrian School District.

Avoid Tardies

Being on time to school is a great way to start the day (students do not like walking into class late). Please avoid tardies at all costs. Gates open at 8:05 am, and close (and lock) at 8:15 am when the instructional day begins. After 8:15 am, everyone must check in through the school office, and students will walk themselves to class.

School Absences:

If your child will be absent or tardy, please call the automated 24 hour attendance line before the school day begins. Absences not cleared will be recorded as a truancy. Farnham's 24 hour automated attendance line is 408-377-3321 EXT 4102.

Medical Updates And Medications For 2025-2026 School Year:

Please provide updated medical forms for children with medical concerns and medication requirements for the 2025-2026 school year. The forms are available on the Cambrian District website's Enrollment Page. Please bring the updated and signed form(s), along with the medication, to the Health Office when school begins. A medication authorization form is required for both prescription and over-the-counter medicines. All medication must be in the original container, labeled by the pharmacist, with clear instructions for administration. O-T-C medications must be new in the sealed packaging.

Safety Guidelines When Dropping Off & Picking Up Students Safety Guidelines When Dropping Off & Picking Up Students

It Works Best when Everyone Works Together!

  • The main drop-off and pick-up areas are in the front of the school (the loop) on Woodard Ave, and in the parking lot. Both options are drop off and pick-up only. NO parking is allowed. Do NOT leave your car unattended.

  • The left lane in the loop is for passing only. The lane closest to the white curb is for drop-off and pick-up ONLY.

  • Students should be prepared ahead of time to exit the vehicle at drop-off.

  • Pull all the way forward, stay in your car, and allow your child to exit or enter curbside as quickly as possible.

Be Kind & Considerate

  • The parking lot is for teachers and staff ONLY. We have many staff members that arrive at various times throughout the day.

  • Student safety during drop off is provided by staff and student leadership. Please respect our helpers.

  • It is your responsibility to slow down, observe all stop signs, obey the crossing guard, and keep an eye out for children’s safety.

  • Use sidewalks and crosswalks ONLY. Please teach your child to NOT walk through the parking lot or through the loop from the inner lane.

  • Do not block neighbor driveways EVER.

  • It is against the law to park in a space designated for disabled persons (if you do not have a placard), or park in front of a curb painted red or yellow. Violators will be ticketed, towed, and/or reported to police.

IF YOU CAN, WALK YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL! Park on the street in the neighborhood and walk with your child to school. It's quality time with your child, a great way for students to get their wiggles out, and an opportunity to get to know other parents.

Teachers will greet students at the classroom from 8:05-8:15 am. For safety, our playgrounds are off-limits before school. Please remind your child and help keep them off the playground. Parents are expected to leave campus by 8:15am. FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY, PLEASE CLOSE THE GATE WHEN YOU LEAVE.
