(2026) The Most Important Class You Never Had: Mission, Movement & Momentum

Who is My Student's Teacher? When Will I Know? Who is My Student's Teacher? When Will I Know?

We know families and students are eager to learn who their new teacher is for the upcoming school year, especially at the elementary level. Class placements and class schedules will be finalized and communicated in August by each school. For our elementary families, please know that our principals and secretaries will return the first week of August. At that time, they diligently work on all back-to-school items, including preparing and sending out family communication regarding student placement, back-to-school open houses, suggested school supply lists, and much more. As we work to prepare everything for the school year, continue to enjoy your summer and check for updates on our website, www.fhps.net. Should you have any questions in the meantime, please call our administration building at 616-493-8800.

Host an International Exchange Student Host an International Exchange Student

You don’t need a passport to experience the world, just a spare room and an open heart. When you host an international high school student, you help make their dream come true. But the biggest surprise? How much they give back. The laughter. The late-night talks. The refreshed way you’ll see your own life and culture through their eyes. FHPS has partnered with Educatius to unlock the world to some exchange students and we are looking for families to host an international exchange student. The exchange program is through Educatius, and as a host there is a monthly stipend which helps offset hosting costs, local coordinator support throughout the year, and more. For questions and opportunities, contact Aimee Boyer, local coordinator, Educatius, (269) 274-8787, or email Aimee.boyer@educatius.org.
