Students are encouraged to join the Rogers' staff on Friday, February 24th in wearing red for GO RED DAY in Frisco ISD!

American Heart Month is just getting started! Together, we can continue to wear, share and rock our red, all to help save more lives. Wear red to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and help save lives. Why? Because losing even one friend or loved-one to cardiovascular disease is too many.

We are happy to share our new school-community partnership with St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. We are their closest elementary school in Frisco! Their volunteers hope to help provide positive role models for students and help for teachers.

Thanks to the Frisco ISD Community Relations Department, we have been paired with a charitable organization that is eager to support our students and staff.

We are thankful to share the volunteers and staff of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church will be supporting our Mystery Reader program by volunteering to read aloud to to students. In addition, they will be able to support our annual Field Day later this spring by providing additional volunteers. This will allow some of our amazing parent volunteers more of an opportunity to spend part of their day with their child, too.

Our front office is happy to assist parents in checking out students early when situations arise that require students to leave campus with a parent or guardian. Please note that unfortunately we are not able to pull students out of class to check them out until the parent is physically on campus and in the front office. We are unable to accommodate calls from parents or guardians driving to campus requesting that students be in the front office and "ready to go," as this creates minutes of lost learning. Thank you for understanding this district-wide procedure and we appreciate your patience. Please reach out to Principal Penny with any questions regarding this procedure.

This event will be full of fun and will provide all students and parents the opportunity to engage in quality family time and connect with their school community!

1. Families will participate in a variety of academic scavenger hunts around the school as a way to connect and deepen their learning as a family.
2. A variety of community clubs/businesses that support children's extracurricular activities will be hosting tables and providing information about their offerings.
3. Dinner will be available to all families that pre-ordered meals (deadline was yesterday, 2/16)
   
4. Kona Ice snow cones will be on campus selling snow cones in the cafe. No pre-orders required.

In a continuous effort to maintain the highest level of safety and security for students on our campus, Frisco ISD requires that all visitors present an ID when coming to campus.

This is true for parents picking up sick students, parents checking students out for appointments, and parents coming for lunch, Mystery Reader, or GMR. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to make Rogers Elementary a safe and secure place for students and staff to learn.

If you or a neighbor plan to enroll new students for the 2023-24 school year, pre-registration begins on February 14th. Once parents have completed the online registration form and uploaded the required documents, they will receive a confirmation email. Enrollment isn’t complete until the documentation is reviewed and processed by FISD staff which will start in the spring and continue throughout the summer. Start the process here.

A Mystery Reader program is a guest reader, BUT their identity is kept secret to build anticipation and excitement. Teachers may even choose to give clues before they arrive to get the students extra excited!

FISD Board Policy requires that each volunteer and/or mentor undergo a background check before working with students. You will be prompted to complete the background check during your VOLY account creation process. Keep an eye on your inbox for your background check approval (the process can take up to 3-5 business days). Once approved, you will be able to sign up directly for volunteer opportunities through the VOLY platform. To volunteer at Rogers Elementary, you will need to create a VOLY account by visiting https://friscoisd.voly.org.

Please remember that sign ups are required in order to eat lunch on campus with your student. If the sign up for the grade level is full and a parent comes to eat lunch, unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate you that day. The sign up is linked below for quick access!

As a reminder, we ask that parents visit 1-2 times per month to allow all interested visitors the opportunity to eat lunch with their student. You must bring an ID in order to be granted access to the building.
