Eagle News

Dear Eagle Families, Students, and Staff,

As we enter the final month of 2025, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for the partnership, hard work, and dedication that make Valley View such a special community. December is a month filled with learning, celebration, and reflection, and we are excited to share several important updates and reminders.

Sincerely,

Mr. Mitchell

Thank you to all students, staff, and families who participated in our annual Turkey Trot! A special thank you goes to Kona Ice for supporting our event and donating 20% of proceeds to Valley View. We appreciate your ongoing support for our schoolwide initiatives. It was great to once again see our parents stepping up BIG to help pull off a great even for kids. I also want to thank Ms. Stitzer, Dr. Wes and our Student Lighthouse Team for organizing this event.

As we close out the semester, teachers are engaging students in meaningful learning experiences that reinforce mastery and prepare them for success in the new year. We encourage all families to help students stay focused by maintaining consistent routines, ensuring regular attendance, and monitoring schoolwork through our online platforms. If you do not have access to Parentvue through Thrillshare, please feel free to reach out to Ms. Irene Ordaz for assistance.

Congratulations to our very own Valley View Spelling Bee Champion Ailany Robles Sicairos from Ms. Brady's class. She will be representing us at the district office Spelling Bee that takes place December 16, 2025. Our second place finisher Ariza Sobrano from Ms. Matanyi's class will also be in attendance. If for whatever reason either of them are absent, Alex Hernandez, our third place finisher will attend. Good Luck EAGLES, we are super proud of your accomplishments and we will all be rooting for you!

For the second consecutive month both Ms. C. Hernandez's and Ms. Zavala's class claim the title of IXL Champions. They had some tough competition but their classes exceeded the expectation by mastering 4.6 and 6.4 skills per week. As a reminder, each grade level must atleast meet the goal of master 2 skills per week as a class on average. For those of you that may be NEW to Valley View, we are SUPER competitive and WANT TO WIN, so please ensure that each student is doing their part.

To celebrate the season and build community, we will host Winter Spirit Week during the final week of school.

• Monday December 15: Grinch vs. Jack the Skeleton Day
• Tuesday December 16: PJ DAY
• Wednesday December 17: Ugly Christmas Sweater Day
• Thursday December 18: Disney Character Day
• Friday December 19: Santa Day

To our incredible teachers and staff, your dedication to our students shines every day. To our families, thank you for your partnership, communication, and support. And to our students, you continue to make us proud through your resilience, effort, and leadership.

We wish all of our Valley View families a wonderful and restful Winter Break. May this season bring you joy, peace, and quality time with the people you love. We look forward to an inspiring and strong start to 2026!

Warmly,

Mr. Mitchell
