Dear Alta Mesa Families,
Welcome to October!!! This is one of my favorite months at school. Sweater weather arrives and students are very excited about Halloween. October is "Bullying Prevention Month" for schools. We will be focusing on character education and bullying prevention throughout the month. One way we do this is through our focus on empowering students to speak up. An important aspect of this is, if you see something, say something. Whether that's speaking to a teacher or other trusted adult on campus or at home.
We will also be celebrating Red Ribbon or Drug Prevention week and Digital Citizenship week this month as well. October 16-20th is Digital Citizenship and October 23rd-27th is Red Ribbon Week. Physical as well as social/emotional safety will be a focus all month!
We have several great events happening in October. First is our "Movies At The Mesa" event on October 20th. There will be food and beverages for purchase. Grab some lawn chairs and warm clothes and come watch a movie!
Second, on October 28th the Alta Mesa Parent Club is hosting it's Fall Carnival in the gym. The Carnival will go from 4 PM to 6 PM. There will be food and drink for purchase. We will also be accepting Candy donations for this event to each classroom. The classroom with the most donated candy will win an ice cream party.
finally, if you have any remaining riffle raffle tickets please make sure to return them to the office this week. We are responsible to either return unsold tickets or cover the cost of those tickets. Thank you!
