The Hearne Huddle
Week of December 1, 2025
Congratulations, Mrs. Lamidi!
Mrs. Lamidi was challenged to go after this award, and she delivered. Not many schools in Alief ISD nor surrounding districts receive this recognition, which makes this achievement even more special. Based on the detailed plan and documentation submitted, this award reflects Mrs. Lamidi's leadership, fierce advocacy, and commitment to serving our students, our campus, our district, and our community. Our comprehensive counseling program is making a real difference, and this is proof that she is changing lives for the better. Keep up the GREAT work!
Mission
At Hearne Elementary, we nurture the whole child by fostering academic growth, emotional well-being, and a belief in every student's potential in partnership with families and the community, we empower learners to reach their fullest potential in a safe, inclusive environment.
TEA Rating
YOU DID IT—And We’re Just Getting Started!
Last year, Hearne made a remarkable leap—moving from a 68 to a 78 on our school rating! That’s a 10-point gain—a clear sign that the hard work, dedication, and belief in our students is paying off.
This kind of growth doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a reflection of:
✅ The tireless efforts of our teachers and staff.
✅ The commitment of our students.
✅ The support from our families and community.
This year, we’re not just aiming for improvement—we’re aiming for excellence. With the same focus and teamwork that got us here, I believe we can earn an A.
Let’s keep pushing forward. Success lives here—and the best is yet to come.

Teaching Best Practices
Reminder about Grow Time
Grow Time is sacred learning time—a chance for teachers to connect directly with students who need extra support or enrichment. To keep this time intentional and interruption-free:
- Have a plan for late arrivals or students who need help logging in to their device. For example, they can work on their morning work packet or another independent task until you’re able to assist them.
- Computers should not be in front of the teacher during this time—this is face-to-face connection time.
- The focus is on maximizing every minute for targeted, intentional support.
Thank you for protecting this valuable time for our students!
Walkthrough Focus-Student Engagement & Lesson Development and Internalization
This month, our ILT will be focusing on student engagement and lesson development/internalization. During walkthroughs, we will be looking for evidence of:
- 5-2-1 Strategy (see attached image)
- Sentence stems in actions with teachers modeling what strong student discourse looks like and sounds like.
- Active observation as students work independently, with teachers circulating and checking for understanding.
- Teacher exemplar in hand, guiding student work and ensuring alignment to the lesson outcome.
District Initiative
Think it, Talk it, Write it, Prove it
This encourages students to first process their thinking, share it verbally, capture it in writing, and then back it up with evidence.

First House Party
Campus Expectations & House System
Our first House Party was a success—thank you for your energy and support in making it a fun and positive event for students! 🎉
Now that we’ve celebrated together, we will be starting fresh with House Points moving forward. Please take some time to review the House Party expectations and system with your students so everyone clearly understands:
Points start back at zero and students have a new chance to contribute to their house.
Participation in the next House Party is earned through positive behavior and contributions.
Students with discipline concerns will not be able to attend the celebration.
Thank you for reinforcing these expectations in your classrooms. Consistency across the campus will help students know the system is fair and something to be proud of.
Together, we’ll keep building excitement while holding high expectations!
