Hello Families,

As STAAR testing wraps up, we are excited to begin the final 3 weeks of school! We have many fun activities, celebrations, and special events planned as we finish the year strong. Be sure to stay up to date by reviewing our calendar and the information below for upcoming events and important dates. We look forward to making these last weeks memorable for our students!

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Click here to view our staff favorites to show your love and appreciation

Clinic Donations

As the school year comes to an end, the nurse clinic is currently in need of a few essential items to help us finish the year strong and prepare for a fresh start next year. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate donations of the following:

  • Girls’ underwear (all sizes)
  • Boys’ underwear (all sizes)
  • Disinfecting wipes (Clorox or any brand)
  • Menstrual pads

These items are used regularly to support student health, hygiene, and comfort, and your generosity truly makes a difference.

Donations can be sent with your child or dropped off at the front office labeled “Nurse Clinic.”

Thank you for your continued support!

Education Foundation Fairways for Leaders Golf Tournament

Join us June 8th at Walnut Creek Country Club for a day of golf, fun, and philanthropy, as we raise funds for our Grants, Scholarships, and Mentors Care program. Your participation will help empower our students through education, mentorship, and community support. Visit www.lifeschools.net/golf for complete information or use the these direct links: Registration now open for individuals and teams! Interested in sponsorships for this event? Don’t forget to use the discount code “Life1998”!

Shoes

Just a quick reminder about the Life School dress code regarding shoes, as we’ve recently noticed an increase in students out of compliance. Students may wear Croc-style shoes, but the back strap must be worn at all times.
Please see below:
"Shoes (Grades K – 12) Appropriate shoes, with non-marking soles, must be worn at all times (can be athletic, loafer style, or dress shoes). The following examples are unacceptable: house shoes, sandals, flip- flops, wheeled shoes, light up shoes, open-toed shoes, or shoes with more than 1-inch heels. Shoes must have both closed toe and closed heel."

Tardy Reminder

This is a reminder of our arrival and dismissal expectations:

Campus opens: 7:15 a.m.

Instruction begins: 7:40 a.m. (students should be in class and ready to learn)

Tardies recorded: 7:45 a.m.

School ends: 4:05 p.m.

We’ve recently seen an increase in unexcused tardies and early releases. Being on time and remaining at school for the full day ensures students receive the maximum benefit of instruction and supports a productive learning environment. Frequent tardies and early releases result in lost instructional time, which can impact academic achievement and overall progress.

Thank you for your support in maintaining a focused and consistent learning environment for all.

Mental Health Awareness Month and National Physical Fitness Month Mental Health Awareness Month and National Physical Fitness Month

Buzzz… May is both Mental Health Awareness Month and National Physical Fitness Month. 🐝

It’s the perfect time to focus on supporting your child’s overall well-being—both mentally and physically. Children are never too young to begin learning how to care for their health.

You can help your child by encouraging:

  • Healthy boundaries and open communication
  • Stress management skills
  • Daily physical activity

As summer approaches, please also talk with your child about staying safe, including:

  • Water safety and always swimming with supervision
  • Being aware of their surroundings while playing outside
  • Looking both ways and using crosswalks when crossing the street
  • Wearing helmets and protective gear when riding bikes or scooters

Studies show that children today are less active than they were 50 years ago, which can increase their risk of developing cardiovascular disease later in life. Building healthy habits and safety awareness now can make a lasting difference.

Let’s work together to help our children grow into healthy, happy, and safe individuals—strong like a busy bee! 🐝💛

Attendance Reminders & Expectations Attendance Reminders & Expectations

This message is a reminder of our arrival and dismissal expectations. Campus doors open at 7:15 a.m., and instruction begins promptly at 7:40 a.m. Students should be in class and ready to learn by that time. As a campus serving over 1,000 students, morning traffic can be busy, and we ask families to plan accordingly.

A five-minute grace period is provided, with tardies recorded beginning at 7:45 a.m. Traffic delays due to accidents or inclement weather are taken into consideration.

The school day ends at 4:05 p.m. Early releases should be limited to necessary situations whenever possible.

Recently, we have seen an increase in unexcused tardies and early releases, which disrupt instructional time and impact learning. One of our goals is to help students grow as LifeLeaders by building positive habits that will support them as they get older, including the importance of being on time and valuing learning.

Below are the attendance brochure and flyer with additional attendance information.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting a safe, orderly, and learning-focused school day.

Weekly I Will Statements

During morning announcements, we will focus on one LifeLeader Attribute each week and learn what we need to do to develop each attribute so that we can become effective leaders in our school and in our community. We encourage students and families to memorize these statements together and talk about how the attribute is exhibited at home, school and work. We will share the I Will statement in the weekly newsletter and on our campus Facebook page. We look forward to hearing how students are exhibiting the attributes at school and home. We invite you to partner with us by asking your child how they are demonstrating these school rules both at school and at home.
