Principal Message

PQ Families,

Today marks the third day of school, and I am proud to say students are settled into their new classrooms and have adjusted to new routines quickly!

As with every start to the school year, there are always a few kinks to work out, so I want to review drop-off and pick-up procedures.

K-5 Drop- off

  • Drop-off window is from 8:05 AM - 8:55 AM.

  • When dropping off please stay in the far left lane coming up the hill so buses and cars can pass if it gets backed up.

  • Stay in the car. We have adults at the curb to assist children who need help getting out of the car. When parents exit the vehicle, it backs up the line and adds to distraction.

  • Follow the directions of the SRO at the crosswalk for when to approach the drop-off curb.

  • Do not let students out of the car before arriving to the curb. It is dangerous to have students crossing the parking lot and walking between buses.

  • School hours are 8:55 - 3:35

K-5 Pick-up

  • K-5 pick-up dismissal begins at 3:25.

  • Stay in the far-left lane coming up the hill so buses and cars can pass. It will get backed up, and if cars are taking up both lanes, buses can not get through.

  • Stay in the car. We have adults at the curb to assist children who need help getting in the car. When parents exit the vehicle, it backs up the line and adds to distraction.

  • Once your child is in the car, please follow the cars ahead of you to exit the line. If you need to secure seatbelts or booster seats, please pull out of the line and into a parking space to complete that task.

PRE- K Drop- Off

  • Drop-off window is from 8:55 AM - 9:15 AM. This time window is an effort to accommodate families with older children while still minimizing heavy traffic with the K-5 students. Pre- K students will be dropped off at the staircase by the gym.

  • When dropping off, please stay in the far left lane coming up the hill so buses and cars can pass if it gets backed up.

  • Stay in the car. We have adults at the curb to assist children who need help getting out of the car. When parents exit the vehicle, it backs up the line and adds to distraction.

PRE-K Pick-Up

  • Pick your child up at the front of the school between 2:00 - 2:15 PM You will pull along the front curb of the school, and a UPK staff member will walk your child to your car.

  • Once your child is in the car, please follow the cars ahead of you to exit the line. If you need to secure seatbelts or booster seats, please pull out of the line and into a parking space to complete that task.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Snowdon
