Glenwood
This Week's Scouting Report
Thursday November 13, 2025
This was a busy week at Glenwood. Our 5th graders took part in the Veterans Day Parade, the first grade students visited Lankenau Hospital as part of their skeletal system study, we introduced a new PBIS Paws for Praise for students riding our buses, and today, we had a visit from the State Police to help with our Lockdown Drill.
Looking ahead, the busy weeks continue with very full November and December calendars. Next week we celebrate American Education Week and invite parents/guardians to visit our classrooms. Please see additional information below, including days/times for each grade level. Don't forget to sign up for Parent / Teacher Conferences the following week. Also check out all the upcoming events our PTG has planned!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Christa Consadene cconsadene@rtmsd.org.

Glenwood Happenings
Lockdown Drill
Hello Glenwood Families
I wanted to take a moment to inform you that we conducted our first lockdown drill at school today. During the drill, Ralph Harrison, RTM’s Administrator for Safe and Inclusive Schools, and officers from the Pennsylvania State Police were on site to assist and provide feedback.
Prior to the drill, teachers reviewed procedures with their classes to ensure students understood what to expect. At the start of the drill, Mr. Harrison addressed the school over the PA system to guide students and staff through the process.
Our school follows the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) for all safety procedures. In the event of a lockdown, the key actions are “Locks, Lights, Out of Sight.” Please see the attached document for more information about the SRP and how it helps ensure consistency and safety in our emergency responses.
Regularly practicing these drills is an important part of maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for our students and staff. We appreciate your support in helping us prepare and ensure that our school community is ready to respond appropriately in any emergency situation.
If you have any questions about our safety protocols, please contact Mr. Harrison at rharrison@rtmsd.org.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our children safe.

Please remember to bring in some of your Halloween candy which will be given to the homeless at various local shelters and food pantries, including Life Center Shelters in Delaware County, the West Chester Food Cupboard, Angel Food Pantry, and more. This year we are hoping to make our BIGGEST candy collection ever! No donation is too small, every single piece of candy is truly appreciated! Please drop your candy in the boxes outside the main office. The collection will run through Friday November 21st!
PBIS on the Bus!
Starting this week, as part of our ongoing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, students have the opportunity to earn new blue paws on the bus. We have reviewed important expectations with students to ensure a safe, respectful, and responsible environment while riding the bus and bus drivers are on the lookout for this positive behavior!
We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home. Please remind your child to:
- Stay seated while the bus is moving
- Use kind and quiet voices
- Keep hands and feet to themselves
- Respect the driver and follow instructions
By working together, we can help ensure a safe and positive bus experience for all students. Thank you for your continued partnership!
5th grade in Media Veteran's Day Parade
On Tuesday, 11/11, fifth graders from all four elementary schools had the honor of participating in the Media Veteran's Day Parade. This has become a special tradition for our students.
Prior to the event, our 5th Grade PTG Committee held a contest for the t-shirt design students would be wearing... congratulations to Owen Lovejoy for his creative and artistic entry (that also aligned with this year's "Teamwork" theme)! We really do have an ALL-STAR 5th GRADE...
