Message from Superintendent Bill Kimball

Happy Monday, Maple Run Community!

It has been an inspiring and meaningful few weeks across Maple Run schools!

At SATEC, SACS, and Fairfield, last week’s PreK–8 parent–teacher conferences brought families, students, and educators together in classrooms and hallways filled with art, projects, and student work. It was wonderful to see students participate alongside their families sharing their learning, reflecting on their growth, and celebrating their accomplishments. These conferences are such a special opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school, honor each student’s voice, and foster connection and belonging.

Over at NCTC, excitement has been building for next year! We sent acceptance letters and emails to 212 students and are thrilled to welcome families tonight, Sunday, March 22, from 5:00–7:00 PM, for Accepted Students Night. This event is a chance to meet staff, review program expectations, discuss leadership and work-based learning opportunities, and start building a strong, supportive community for the year ahead.

At Bellows Free Academy, students continue to shine in academics, arts, and athletics. Thirteen students auditioned for and were selected to attend the All New England Music Festival in New Hampshire — a remarkable experience highlighting their talent and hard work. Our Comet hockey and Bobwhite basketball teams have brought pride to the community with outstanding performances, and our students continue to excel in theater, dance, and other regional and state competitions. The energy, dedication, and creativity of our students is inspiring, and it’s been incredible to see the community come together to support them.

Finally, thank you to everyone who participated in the Board meeting on Wednesday, in person and remotely. We were especially happy to welcome Jennifer Williamson, representing the Town of Saint Albans. Your engagement and support are vital in helping our schools grow stronger and more inclusive for all students.

Practical Suggestions to Try This Week:

  • Reflect with your child on a highlight from conferences or something they’re proud of learning recently.
  • Celebrate a creative or athletic accomplishment, big or small, and encourage curiosity and effort.
  • Take a moment to appreciate the many ways our students, families, and staff contribute to the life of our schools and community.

Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community partners across SATEC, SACS, Fairfield, NCTC, and BFA for showing up, lifting each other up, and creating a culture of care, creativity, and connection. Let’s carry that energy into this week and keep celebrating learning together!

Maple Run Family Survey

At Maple Run, strong schools are built through strong partnerships with families. Thank you to everyone who has already completed our Family–School Relationships Survey. Your feedback is helping us make our schools even more welcoming, supportive, and connected for every student and family.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, we encourage you to take about 10 minutes to share your thoughts, experiences, and ideas. The survey asks the same questions as last year so we can see what’s improving and identify areas where we can grow. Your voice guides decisions, strengthens collaboration, and ensures every student feels valued and supported.

Complete the survey here: Maple Run Family Survey

We truly appreciate your time and perspective. Every response helps us continue building schools where all students can thrive, and every family feels seen and heard. Thank you for being an essential part of our community!

Micro Goals for Big Impact

This week, try breaking your tasks into micro goals: small, manageable steps that make even big projects feel achievable. Whether at work, school, or home, focusing on one step at a time can reduce stress, build confidence, and keep you moving forward without feeling overwhelmed.

Practical Suggestions to Try This Week:

  • Divide and conquer: Break larger tasks into 5–10 minute steps.
  • Celebrate small wins: Each completed step is progress—acknowledge it!
  • Stay focused: Tackle one micro goal at a time before moving on.
  • Reflect: At the end of the day, notice how much you accomplished through these small actions.

Why It Matters:
Micro goals help you stay motivated, focused, and resilient. Taking intentional, small steps supports your well-being, productivity, and sense of accomplishment, aligning with Maple Run’s values of Wellness, Community, and Curiosity.

2026–2027 Maple Run School Calendar 2026–2027 Maple Run School Calendar

Attendance Matters

Last week, we shared the finalized 2026–2027 MRUSD school calendar with our families! We’re excited to provide this resource early so you can plan ahead for the year, whether it’s appointments, vacations, or other activities.

The calendar includes 177 student days, and we kindly ask families to consider these dates when scheduling events whenever possible. We understand that life happens and last-minute changes are sometimes unavoidable, but sharing the calendar now helps everyone plan and ensures students can be fully present for learning.

You can view the full calendar here: 2026–2027 MRUSD Calendar

School Board meetings are open to everyone, and we encourage families and community members to attend when they can. Agendas are posted the Friday before each meeting, which are typically held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.

If you have any questions, ideas, or just want to connect, please reach out: TapIn@MapleRun.org

Thank you for helping us make the 2026–2027 school year a smooth, successful, and joyful experience for every student in Maple Run!
