Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we near the end of "Marking Period 1", report cards will be available to parents at the close of the school day on November 14th. Should you have any questions regarding your child's progress, please reach out to the classroom teacher. Other
academic or social concerns can be directed to our counseling staff which includes the following:

Hannah Sarrecchia (Student Assistance Coordinator)

On November 14th, we will be holding a Parent Advisory Meeting beginning at 9:00 AM. There will be a presentation by our counselors on Social/Emotional Health and a presentation on State Assessment results for WIS and the support mechanisms we use to assist in closing achievement gaps for students.

Sincerely,

Dear Parent/Guardian,

My name is Hannah Sarrecchia, and I am proud to serve as the Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) at Wall Intermediate School. As the SAC, I work collaboratively with our WIS staff, families, and other professionals to effectively support our students’ emotional, behavioral, social, and academic success. My primary role is to provide WIS with a range of resources, including prevention, assessment, intervention, referral, and counseling services, ensuring that we meet the diverse needs of our students in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Our students face a range of challenges, and I am dedicated to being a valuable resource for them. I strive to create a safe environment where they can openly express their concerns and receive the guidance they need. Some of the challenges can include family/social relationships, anxious thoughts, emotional regulation, anger management, emotional stress/depression, substance use (prevention of vaping), alcohol-related issues, self-esteem concerns, thoughts of self-harm, bullying, neglect or abuse, eating disorders, grief and loss, gender identity, academics, and more. I am here to address any mental, emotional, social, or behavioral issues that may impact a student's overall well-being and decision-making.

The SAC program not only provides prevention and intervention initiatives but also confidential counseling, small group support sessions, crisis intervention, and referrals to community resources. Mental health support is my focus, alongside a commitent to suicide prevention and specialized assessments.

Students are encouraged to seek help either on their own or through referrals from any member of our school community. Rest assured, all services are confidential.

If you would like to learn more about the SAC program, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via phone or email.

Thank you for your attention. I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Warm Regards,

Hannah Sarrecchia, MEd, LAC, NCC, SAC

Passion First

The month of November is dedicated to the exploration of the mindset, Passion First.

Passion First teaches understanding that each of us is a unique expression of human existence, and that our lives should be focused on finding our individual genius. Essential to this is making our dreams authentic and aligned with our core values.

4 Key Components in this Mindset include:

  • Focus on Strengths
  • Explore Your Interests
  • Take a Stand
  • Be Authentic

Finding Stability:

If your family is experiencing economic challenges or homelessness, visit the McKinney Vento webpage for essential information and guidance on available resources.
