We are so excited to welcome our new and returning Cherrydale families into the building this week for Success Conferences! There is something special about seeing our hallways come back to life, meeting new families, reconnecting with returning ones, and beginning to build the relationships that will carry us through the school year. We are looking forward to a fantastic year together!

A Few Important Dates

1st–3rd Grade: All students will attend school on Friday, September 4th.

Kindergarten: Kindergarten students will continue with WA-Kid Conferences throughout this week. Our Soft Start will take place on Tuesday, September 8th and Wednesday, September 9th, with all Kindergarten students attending together beginning Thursday, September 10th.

Connecting with Your Child's Teacher

During the school day, our teachers are focused on providing instruction and supporting students from 9:05 AM–3:35 PM. During these hours, teachers are not available for conferences or parent conversations.

If you would like to connect with your child's teacher, please reach out to them directly to arrange a time to meet. Teachers are happy to schedule a conversation 30 minutes before school begins or 30 minutes after school ends so they can give your questions and concerns the time and attention they deserve.

Playground After School
We love seeing families enjoy our playground! To help our dismissal run safely and smoothly, we respectfully ask that families who would like to use the playground after school wait until 3:40 PM before entering the playground area. This allows our staff to focus on loading buses and ensuring that every student is safely accounted for and in the correct dismissal location.

Arrival & Dismissal
Please take a moment to review the arrival and dismissal information and image below, including information about our valet procedures. Parking around our school is limited, so we greatly appreciate families utilizing our valet system whenever possible.

A few important reminders:

• If you are walking to or from school, please use the marked crosswalks.
• Families using the 3rd Grade Valet should remain in the vehicle and wait until you pull forward to the designated unloading area before your child exits the car.

Thank you for your partnership as we get our routines established. These small steps make a big difference in helping us create a safe, efficient, and positive start and end to each school day.

We are so happy to have our Cherrydale families back, and we can't wait to see the wonderful things this year will bring!

If your student will be absent, tardy, or leaving early, please notify the Office as soon as possible. Only the Office can excuse an absence or adjust attendance records.

Please use the Attendance Line 253.983.2551 to let us know when your child will be absent, arriving late, or being picked up early. When leaving a message, please clearly provide your student’s first and last name, teacher’s name, and the reason for the absence.

EARLY RELEASE

For the safety and smooth dismissal of all students, we ask that early releases not take place during the last 30 minutes of the school day. Thank you for helping us keep our end-of-day routine

State or federal law requires that a form must be completed and signed by both parent/guardian and a licensed health care provider with prescriptive authority for ALL medications to be given at school, including over-the-counter (OTC) medications. This form needs to be renewed at the beginning of each year.
