Dear DMS Families,

We are officially down to 4.5 days of school left in this school year. This week, we had our annual State Police Day. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, and we had to cut it a little bit short. However, we are thankful to the Massachusetts State Police, as well as Dighton Police and Fire Departments for being willing to work with students in our gym. They held a question and answer session to finish the morning, and students were able to learn about the various departments within the State Police, as well as our local police and fire.

Moving into next week, we will be busy each day. On Monday, 4th grade students will be visiting from DES for their Spring Step- up Day. We look forward to meeting students when they visit. They will also visit on Tuesday for lunch. In addition, Grades 5 and 8 will take their field trip on Tuesday. As of now, it is looking like great weather on that day. We will finish the week with the Grade 8 Luau on Wednesday night from 6:00- 8:00 p.m., and our Grade 8 Promotion on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the DMS gym. Please make sure that you have rsvp'd to the Promotion Ceremony no later than this Friday, June 13th, as we will begin to take a look at our wait list after that.

Below you will find information on Grade 8 Chromebook Return Fees, a DRRHS football meeting, middle school summer reading and Band/Chorus sign- ups for 2025-2026. You will also find the 2025-2026 list of School Supplies here.

Have a great week! Please also find the June Wellness Newsletter.

Reminder to Families Reminder to Families

Dear DR Families,

As you may know, Massachusetts now provides free breakfast and lunch for all students across the Commonwealth!

We are encouraging families who may have qualified for the National Free & Reduced School Lunch Program in the past to complete the online application. This helps determine eligibility and ensures that we can continue to offer reduced or waived fees for various programs and activities. When completing the application, please remember to include consent for sharing your status with relevant departments and programs.

Without this qualification and your consent, we will be unable to provide reduced or waived fees.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Technology Repair Fees Technology Repair Fees

Dear Families,

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our commitment to maintaining our technology resources, we wanted to inform you about our updated repair fee structure. This will go into effect on October 28, 2024. These fees help us cover the cost of repairs when school-issued devices are damaged due to misuse or carelessness. The fees are divided into three tiers, depending on the extent of the damage:

  • Level 1: Charger, Cover (top or bottom), Touchpad, etc- $40
  • Level 2: Keyboard, Monitor- $75
  • Level 3: Total Loss/Replacement- $300

We encourage students to handle their devices with care to avoid any damage and the associated costs. If a device does require repair, the appropriate fee will be communicated to you along with the steps to resolve the issue.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our technology in great condition!

In addition, if your child needs Chromebook repairs, you will receive an email directly from mySchoolBucks regarding payment.
