Parents, please check your child’s grades and communicate with their teachers to make sure they are turning in their assignments and not failing any subjects. It is important to encourage your child to be on time, be prepared for class and to attend tutoring if they need to. The end of the school year will be here before you know it.
The students will continue to take several STAAR tests over the next few weeks and it is important that they get a good night’s rest before each testing day. The teachers have prepared them, and they are ready to do their very best! Thank you for your encouragement and support.

STAAR testing continues this week for 8th grade students. Wednesday, April 24th is the 8th grade Science STAAR and Thursday, April 25th is the 8th grade Social Studies STAAR. Please make sure your students are aware of testing days and have their iPads updated and charged and ready for testing. Please see below for a few weekly scheduling updates.
Schedule:
Monday - 8 period day
Tuesday - 8 period day
Wednesday - 8th Science STAAR (stay with testing teacher the rest of the day)
Thursday - 8th Social Studies STAAR (stay with testing teacher the rest of the day)
Friday- Even Block - Early Release at 1pm.

The City of Lewisville is two weeks away from celebrating Spring with ColorPalooza, one of the most colorful and vibrant events in town, on Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., in and around Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W. Church Street.
ColorPalooza: A Celebration of Spring is a family-friendly, outdoor event, featuring a wide variety of exhibits and interactive activities with a “spring” feel. Visitors will get to show off their artistic abilities, watch skilled artists create one-of-a-kind masterpieces, learn to better care for the earth, and learn how to make their homes more environmentally friendly.
New activities this year include: The Cultural Corner Pods, featuring music, dance, food vendors, and activities from Ukraine and Colombia; Taylor Swift-inspired Friendship Bracelet Station; Sun Prints (cyanotype) with Lizzie’s Little Darkroom; Mad Science STEM; and bath bomb making with Buff City Soap.
Returning highlights for this year’s ColorPalooza include Chalk This Way, the popular sidewalk chalk extravaganza showcasing amateur and professional chalk art; a DIY tie-dye station presented by Kris Tees; live art demonstrations; DJ Experience with Innovation Center Outreach; and Cookie Decorating, presented by Creatively Sweet Desserts Boutique.
Musical performers on the Wayne Ferguson Plaza Stage include Mel Garsek, Dallas Asian Strings, and a Disney cover concert by The Grays, including a special appearance by Moana. Cultural performers will include Danza Azteca Guadalupana, Zorya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble Dallas, Representa Foundation Folklorico, and Grace Hula Dance Company will entertain festivalgoers throughout the day on the CoServ Stage at City Hall.
