We are so proud to announce that our GAMEDAY Competition Cheerleading Squad came in first place this weekend at our first invitational competition of the season. We will take the mat again on Saturday, November 23rd at Model HS in Rome, GA. Go Panthers!

On Saturday October 26, Parkview's chapter of the Junior Classical League hosted almost 500 Latin students and teachers from all over the state for the Georgia Junior Classical League's Fall Forum. The following Latin students earned the following awards:

• Kendall Downs, Grayson Mayhew, Logan Mercer, and Zack Refling earned 3rd place in tug-of-war and 3rd place in ultimate frisbee.

• Aiden Parker earned 4th place in the Roman History and Culture Exam and 4th place in the Mythology Exam.

• Oliver Barrieau earned 5th place in the Roman History and Culture Exam and 5th place in the Mythology Exam.

November 1st and 2nd - Parkview Performing Arts will perform their competition show Oscar Wildes' The Importance of Being Earnest at Parkview High School.

November 7th, 8th, and 9th - Parkview Performing Arts Musical Theatre Students will perform A Wonderfully Wizarding Musical Showcase! This showcase will feature songs and scenes from The Wiz, Wicked, and songs inspired by The Wizard of Oz!

All shows will start promptly at 7:30pm. Make plans to arrive early to avoid parking issues. Tickets will be sold on GoFan.co only (please purchase tickets in advanced)

Join us on November 16th, 10am-3pm. There will be booths, food trucks and entertainment. Come out and support the Parkview PTSA, student organizations, and community members!

The deadline to be in the yearbook is fast approaching. If you are a senior and you want to appear in the yearbook, you must schedule your appointment with CADY before November 25! Go to CADY.com now to book your appointment.

The purpose of the Parent Mentor Present meetings is to encourage learning at home, build collaboration with schools, and connect families to community resources. In-person sessions are held at the Instructional Support Center (437 Old Peachtree Rd). Virtual sessions are held via Zoom. Pre-registration is required for each session.

• In person session: 10:00 – 11:30 AM (In-Person registration link)
• Zoom session: 6:00 - 7:30 PM (Zoom registration link)

Interpretation services are available upon request. Please make a request at least one week in advance of the scheduled meeting date. Spanish interpretation services are already secured. To see a list of this year’s meetings, click here.

Please remember we do not interrupt class time to deliver items to students that were left at home. We will not deliver items to students and we will not call into classrooms to have students pick up items. If you leave something for a student they will need to pick it up between classes. Thank you for your help supporting a consistent learning environment.

• Prior to 7:15 am, the student should provide the Attendance Office with a note from the parent or guardian stating the date, parent contact number, the time requested for the check-out, and the reason. The student's absence due to checking out will only be excused if it meets one of the approved reasons stated in the GCPS Handbook.

• The student is then provided with a check-out pass to be shown to the classroom teacher at the time of the check-out. This pass should be brought to the Attendance Office to complete the checkout process. There is no need for the parent/guardian to come into the building, the student can meet their parent outside or if they are a driver, they can then leave campus.
• If the parent cannot be contacted, the student may not be allowed to check out. A parent or guardian must be contacted to grant permission before a student is allowed to leave campus.

Students who leave campus without following the check-out procedures will be considered AWOL from school and disciplined accordingly.

Note: On certain days when there are unexpected schedule changes or planned schedule changes, lines may be up to an hour long and last checkout times can be moved to 12:30pm.

We would love your support in following the above instructions. We have this process to limit the number of people entering the building during the day and to limit the interruption to classes. When the above process is followed, parents don't have to enter the school or only have to on rare occasions.
