The Panther Pride

McMillen High School takes pride in preparing our diverse community of students in a safe and supportive environment to inspire them to be successful lifelong learners.

Relationships. Relevance. Rigor.

Please use this tip line to report anything concerning. Help us keep our students safe.

Parents, please remember after school pick up is in the back parking lot only, NOT the bus lane. We appreciate your attention to our students' safety.

Any student without an ID will have another one printed for them. They will be charged $5 for each ID badge that is replaced.

If your 10th grader signed up for Dual credit classes for 11th grade, they recently received information via email from counselor Sarah Killion about how to apply to Collin College and information about signing up to take the TSIA if they need it. The TSIA will be given at McMillen on February 17th (it is too late to sign up for the January 27th administration). Your student’s email contained information about whether they need to take the TSIA, or you may contact Sarah Killion at sarah.killion@pisd.edu to verify if your student needs this important test. Collin College Representatives are currently visiting McMillen to help students get their applications complete if they need assistance. Please encourage your student to get these important steps completed. After March 2nd, any students who have not completed their required steps for Dual Credit classes will be unenrolled in Dual Credit and their classes will be changed for 11th grade.

If your student no longer wishes to take Dual Credit, or if your student is not signed up for Dual Credit but now wishes to be, please notify Ms. Killion.

Congratulations to Mrs. Kristine Lepow & the McMillen HS Winterguard whose “A Pirates’ Life for Me” themed performance earned them 8th place in their round at the North Texas Colorguard Assoc (NTCA) Frisco Independence HS show this past Saturday. They competed against other varsity & JV programs from all over the metroplex.

Catch the MHS Winterguard in their next performance at Naaman Forest HS in Garland on Saturday, Feb 17, at 12:52pm.

Last weekend our McMillen singers were hard at work singing classical arias for judges at the Region 25 Vocal Solo and Ensemble competition. Many songs were in foreign languages like Italian, Spanish, French, or German and required months of preparation. The highest rating is a 1 (superior) and then follow with 2 (excellent), 3 (good), 4 (fair).

Our students received 15 superior ratings and 7 excellent ratings. Please congratulate them on doing something extremely difficult and pretty scary. The only thing that is ranked higher than public speaking on the list of common fears, is singing in public alone!
