We are off to a fantastic start at Legacy Campus! It’s been energizing to meet with students in their kick-off assemblies and see their excitement for the year ahead.

This year, we’re leaning in even more on the professional skills that matter—not just the technical know-how to do the job, but the habits and behaviors that help students get and keep the job. Every class will include a Professional Skills rubric (worth 15% of the grade) to support this focus.

We also want to give a big shoutout to students for doing a great job wearing their IDs on campus! If a student still needs an ID, they can get one printed at their home high school.

We can’t wait to see our students grow in skill, confidence, and professionalism. Here’s to an amazing year ahead at Legacy!

New Culinary Equipment

Our Culinary & Hospitality Pathway continues to grow, and we are happy to be able to create a new space for our students to learn in with the addition of a new Rational Combi oven that gives our students the hands-on learning with new and innovative equipment.

SNT Repair Academy

Second year Secure Network Technology students spent some time assembling PCs during class last week. Building a PC provides deep knowledge of each component's function and how they interact within a system, from the motherboard and CPU to the power supply and memory.

Reminders Reminders

Attendance Line

For ANY absences or early dismissals the student's guardian will need to call the Legacy Campus

Attendance Line at 303-387-7803 to excuse them from our classes in addition to calling the student’s primary high school.

This is also applicable when a student might miss for a school-related absence such as clubs, activities, athletics, assemblies and field trips. Those events are not always communicated to our staff and attendance systems unfortunately do not translate school to school.

Please do NOT call the college associated with your student's pathway regarding attendance.

Lanyards and IDs

All students and staff need to wear their lanyards and IDs at all times in the building. If your high school has not provided you with a printed student ID this year, please visit the main office of your home high school to ask for one.

If you need a replacement for your Legacy Campus lanyard, please see the bookkeeper at our admin desk to purchase one for $5.

Viewing Grades

We have received a few questions about how parents and students can see Legacy Campus student grades on Campus Portal. When viewing student grades in the app or on the website, please toggle between the student's primary high school and the Legacy Campus on the top of the screen. Students can view their grades the same way as they do at their high school. Please remember that CNA and EMT grades are not shown in Infinite Campus as they are through Arapahoe Community College. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student's teacher.

Transportation

Thank you for your patience as we work with Noah Cares to provide vans to and from the local DCSD high schools. The drivers have been learning their routes and we've been getting a little better at the timing each day. We will be reviewing the schedule with Noah Cares this week and will reach out with any updates/changes. In the case of inclement weather, the Delayed Transportation Schedule is posted on the Legacy Campus website. If you would like to sign up for the van transportation or still needs to register for a free parking pass, please visit the Parking and Transportation page HERE.

Construction on Ridgegate Pkwy

City of Lone Tree has reported that RidgeGate Parkway westbound will be down to ONE LANE at High Note and RidgeGate Parkway. The reason for the lane closure is for utility work related to construction of the new Justice Center. The lane closure is expected to last for two months.

Also, please note the speed limit on Ridgegate Parkway has been reduced to 35 MPH due to active construction and to ensure the safety of drivers around work zones.

Students may want to find an alternate route to ensure they get to class on time.

Weighted Grade Updates

As communicated last spring, updates to the DCSD high school grading and transcript policy (IKF-R-4) officially went into effect on July 1, 2025.

This policy introduces a weighting system for several course types to better reflect academic rigor. The key changes are as follows:

  • Honors Courses: Honors coursework in core classes and world language courses at levels three and above are now weighted on a 4.5-point scale. The point values for these courses are: A=4.5, B=3.5, C=2.5, D=1.0, and F=0.0.

  • Concurrent Enrollment (CE) Courses: Certain Concurrent/Dual Enrollment courses that are part of an approved course of study within a DCSD-defined district career and technical education (CTE) pathway are now weighted on a 5.0-point scale. The point values for these courses are: A=5.0, B=4.0, C=3.0, D=1.0, and F=0.0.

As a result, you should soon see a new weighted GPA amount for your student on their Infinite Campus (IC) transcript, which may be different from the GPA posted at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Should you have any questions, please contact your home high school's registrar office.
