MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL💬
Although this is a shorter week, it has been a busy and productive one. Today, students across all grade levels participated in a variety of meaningful activities designed to support their academic growth, exploration, and future planning.
Our students enjoyed a trip to the Museum of Science, where they had the opportunity to engage with science and learning beyond the classroom. Grade 9 students participated in Hawk Day, building connections and strengthening their sense of community. Students also took part in PSAT testing, while our seniors focused on their futures through college visits and application support.
These experiences reflect our ongoing commitment to providing students with opportunities to learn, grow, explore their interests, and prepare for the next steps in their educational journeys.
A special thank you to our faculty and staff for their dedication and hard work in coordinating these activities and ensuring our students have access to these valuable experiences.

Parent/Teacher Conferences 📚
Fall parent-teacher conferences link opened on Thursday, October 22, from 2:33–4:33 p.m. at Hudson High School. CLICK HERE for Step by Step instructions. The following information is intended to clarify the purpose of conference night and how this time can best be used to support student success.
High school teachers work with approximately 100 students across five different classes throughout the year. As a result, the number of available conference appointments is limited, making it difficult to accommodate every parent or guardian during the evening.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to schedule appointments with teachers when there are concerns about their child’s academic performance, classroom behavior, or progress in a particular course. If a student is performing well in a class and there are general questions about the course, contacting the teacher by email or telephone may be a more convenient option. This is not intended to discourage families from attending conference night. Rather, the goal is to make the best use of the limited appointment times available and ensure that families with more immediate academic or behavioral concerns have an opportunity to meet with their child’s teachers.
Although it is not possible to accommodate every family during evening conferences, parents and guardians are always encouraged to contact teachers by email or telephone throughout the school year whenever questions or concerns arise. To access the staff directory, please click HERE.
The scheduling window will open at 8:00am on October 13th, please CLICK HERE.
Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership in supporting student success.
Friend Drama, Group Chats, and Social Exclusion: What Parents Need to Know 👭
Friendships can be one of the best parts of childhood — and one of the most painful. If you’ve watched your child navigate friend drama, social exclusion, or the pressures of group chats, you know how hard it can be to know when to step in and what to say.

Attendance 👩🏻🎓
This year, Hudson High School’s data focus is on student attendance. We have formed a committee of staff that will look at the data and identify ways to improve student attendance. We know that students who feel more connected and engaged have better attendance. One resource that the attendance committee will use is Attendance Works. The Attendance Works website has many resources if families are interested.
Attention Seniors and Parents 🪖
Please take a moment to review the attached letter regarding the release of student contact information to military recruiters and colleges/universities.
We will also be sending this information directly by email to each parent/guardian and student.
If you do not want your student’s information released, please complete and return the attached Opt-Out Form by October 16, 2026 to the School Counseling Office.
Thank you for taking a moment to review this important information!

Student Item Drop-Off Reminder🎒
We understand that students occasionally forget something at home! To help families while also keeping our building secure, we have set up a student item drop-off area in the vestibule.
There are two designated bins:
Technology: Chromebook chargers and other technology-related items
Other: Any other small items your student may need
Backpacks and sporting equipment should NOT be placed in the bins. Please label and leave these items on the designated table.
We ask families to limit entry into the school whenever possible by using the vestibule drop-off area. This helps us maintain a safe and secure environment for all students and staff.
We also encourage students to remember to bring everything they need with them each morning. While we are happy to help when something is forgotten, developing the habit of being prepared is an important part of becoming more independent.
Aspen Contact Information- VERY IMPORTANT❗
Has your parent/guardian information changed over the summer and you need to update it in Aspen? Please log into your Aspen Parent Portal account and click the Initiate button under the Tasks widget. Select Student/Contact Emergency Info workflow and follow the steps.
Drop Off & Pick Up🚦
Please follow the student drop off signs in the Parking Lot. Students that are driven to school need to be dropped off in the designated lanes.
After the first few days of school, we are still seeing drivers who are not following our new traffic protocol. These procedures are in place to keep our students safe and to help traffic move efficiently.
Please remember:
- Do not drop students off at the crosswalk. This creates a safety hazard for students and pedestrians.
- Move all the way to the end of the designated drop-off lane before allowing your student to exit the vehicle.
- Students should carefully walk to the closest crosswalk to enter the building safely.
- Please follow all directions from staff and posted traffic signs.
Our Resource Officer will be out monitoring the traffic pattern and issuing tickets to vehicles that are not following the established procedures.
See below the pattern that was sent previously.
Morning Arrival: The doors open for Hudson High School at 6:45 AM. Students who arrive before this time will not be allowed entry to the building.
When dropping off students, please observe the NEW traffic pattern pictured below.
- Do not enter the bus loop.
- Do not enter the first 4 rows of the parking lot. These rows are reserved for our mobility impaired students, visitors with a handicap sticker, general visitors and staff parking.
- If you have a student driver (learners permit) and/or are switching drivers at drop off, please take the second left as you come into the parking lot and park in a space to swap drivers in the back area of the lot.
Afternoon Pickup: Students are dismissed at 2:03 PM.
In the afternoon, families may line up in the front bus loop, starting on the far end of the building over by the gym. The picture below illustrates where afternoon cars can line up. DO NOT park in front of the building! This is a fire lane and cars will be asked to move. DO NOT block the handicap spots in the first row. If this loop fills, vehicles should utilize the two drop-off rows in the parking lot.
Bus Routes🚌
Bus routes will be published in August and can be found on the Transportation page of the Hudson District Schools website. Families are encouraged to go to the Transportation page in Aspen to view your eligible student(s) bus number and bus stop.
If you are unable to access Aspen, families with students that are eligible for transportation (see eligibility guidelines below) should review the bus routes for their student’s school to find the bus number and bus stop that is closest to their home.
All students are automatically assigned to a bus number and bus stop (if eligible determined by First Student software). Bus number and bus stop are subject to change each year depending on enrollment.
Transportation Eligibility Guidelines
- All students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 living more than one mile from their assigned school are eligible for Transportation.
- Students that live under one mile from their assigned school are considered "walkers" and are not eligible for transportation services.
- Eligibility is determined by First Student Bus Company software.
- Safety issues are taken into consideration when determining transportation eligibility as well.
Families/students, please remember there is a 10 minute window at the bus stops for estimated pick up and drop off times posted on our bus routes.
