A Message from Dr. Toni Hicks A Message from Dr. Toni Hicks

Hello, Cougars!

Happy Friday, Jarrell ISD. If you were watching our social media pages this week, you know the Jarrell ISD Track and Field had an exceptional performance at the district meet and many student-athletes have advanced to Area. We also have students competing this weekend at the state FCCLA competition. Go Cougars!

As exemplified by these awesome student achievements, Jarrell ISD is a strong and proud community. And that’s because of you. I firmly believe the foundation of our schools lies in the strength of our staff, parents, and community. This week our newsletter is highlighting a few upcoming ways you can engage with Jarrell ISD because your support and participation will always be the key to our success.

  • We are seeking your input on the 2021-22 Academic Calendar. The survey will close on April 14. The Board will decide on the calendar on April 21. Your participation will help us make the best decision for our community.

  • We also want to showcase our talented students any chance we get. On Sunday, our One-Act Play will perform for the community at 4 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Doors open at 3:30. Due to COVID-19, we will have a limited number of seats available and masks will be required. We hope you will come out and support these very talented students as they prepare for their next competition.

  • Next Tuesday, April 13 at 6 p.m., the community will have another opportunity to attend a Bond Presentation. This time it will be virtual on our YouTube channel. Early voting begins in just nine days, and so if you have any questions about the bond or want to know more so you can inform your friends and neighbors, I encourage you to attend.

  • If you are interested in joining the district, remember to mark your calendars for our upcoming Job Fair on April 29 from 5-7 p.m. in the cafeteria at Igo Elementary. Help us spread the word, as we are hiring for all positions for the upcoming school year.

  • And earning the most "cute points" (not that it’s a competition) for community engagement is the Igo Elementary PTO. They are hosting a Build-a-Cougar Event on May 1 from 10-12 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. This fun, spirit-filled event is open to the community! Today (April 9) is the deadline to pre-order. (Details are below.)

We will provide additional engagement opportunities in the coming weeks and months. As always, thank you for your support.

Have a great weekend!

Toni Hicks
