We alos invite parents of our - PUBERTAL CHANGE UPDATE
The Y4-Y6 Swimming competition was great fun last Friday Thanks to all the parents who attended and helped . we look forward to the Y1-Y3 Swimming Competition on Friday this week.
Please note the final newsletter of the term will be in 3 weeks time - Wednesday 1 April. Likely a few notices within the next 3 weeks, however.
Regular and consistent Student attendance is one of the Ministry of Education's goals. At Macleans Primary our attendance rates are very good. Please continue to support your child arriving at school on time (but not before 8.30) with all the necessary 'tools' for learning.
On a final note, we love to celebrate the success and values achievements of Macleans Primary Children at school. We know that there are many Macleans Primary children achieving great things outside of school too, whether in sports, the arts, at clubs and groups. Please share these with me (m.cooke@macleansprimary.school.nz) so we can highlight in the newsletter. There are a couple to share in this newsletter.
Enjoy the content in this newsletter as there is definitely much of Macleans Primary to celebrate and share in this newsletter!
Regards - Matthew Cooke

Updates on the 2025 Community Survey 2025 (For 2026)
Thanks again to everyone who contributed to the staff survey. The results were very positive and supported the positive direction that we are heading in strategically and in the day to day management of the children's learning and hauora.
One action that we are looking to build upon from the survey are the home-school partnership and supporting parents in understanding and knowing what the teaching and learning looks like and the teaching approaches towards literacy and numeracy from Year 1 to Year 6.
Another area that we intend to build upon and grow is the Macleans Learner. How does the Macleans Learner work together and What does it mean for the children are two questions that we will continue to unpack with parents and children. You can download the 2026 Macleans Learner below and print out abnd stiuck it ob your fridge if you want:)))
The idea of 'culture'. Even though we are all New Zealanders how do we celebrate and share our roots? How do we acknowledge our parents and grandparents country of birth? Watch this space for information on our 'Culture Week' coming in Term 2!
