WRVS Team Sport Highlights WRVS Team Sport Highlights

3/4 Soccer Team Highlights from Coach Morgan Ottoman 3/4 Soccer Team Highlights from Coach Morgan Ottoman

3/4 soccer has had a busy last couple weeks! The kids have been giving it their all! Here are some more spotlights from our team:

Marlee Musty always shows up with a smile ready to play! Her spirit on the field always brings joy and keeps team morale high throughout the game!

Addie Sparrow has proved to be a forced to be reckoned with, defending her goalie! She has shown time and time again she has no problem booting that ball down the field to get it away from goal!

Braecyn Duff has so much try! His speed on the field keeps him as one of our most valuable strikers! We can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings for him and his lightning speed!

Isabel Roy has come alive and is a force on the field! She has no problem jumping in to get possession of the ball for her team; her confidence continues to grow each game!

Paisley Otterman has shown many strengths on the field this season for her team! She has been one of our lead scorers this season and has been a huge asset during game time!

Reid Poliquin is not one to back down from the ball. He takes great care of his goalie, trying to stop or block any ball coming their way! He is always keeping his coaches on their toes and making us smile!

Lily Mousley has so much speed! Her ability to go from one end of the field to stay on the ball is wonderful to watch. Always a team player with a positive attitude ready to work!

Sophia Beck, I say this all the time, "she is small but mighty"; Sophia backs down to no one! Her athletic ability on the field is unstoppable always; a fun one to watch because she puts on a performance at every game!

WRVS 5/6 Shows Heart, Hustle, and Perseverance in 3-2 Victory Over Newbury WRVS 5/6 Shows Heart, Hustle, and Perseverance in 3-2 Victory Over Newbury

Waits River Valley School put on an incredible display of hard work, teamwork, and perseverance Wednesday night, battling their way to a well-earned 3–2 victory over Newbury.

From the opening whistle to the final minutes, this team showed determination, grit, and a willingness to fight for every ball. Two penalty kicks, confidently converted by Grayson Kilduff and James Robtoy, along with a well-earned goal from Christopher Toffling, proved to be the difference in a hard-fought matchup.

Ryan Greene brought lightning-fast speed and an aggressive offensive presence to the field, keeping the pressure on Newbury throughout the game. In the midfield, Connor Shreve, Faith Hathaway, Braxton Daniels, Lily Boswell, Blaze Ramsrud, and Colton Putney worked tirelessly, covering the field and controlling the pace of play. Their communication, hustle, and ability to work together helped keep Waits River Valley in command of the game.

Defensively, Liam Donnolley, Lucy Melia, Nora Towle, Annabelle Smith, and Chase Walbridge stood strong, disrupting Newbury's attempts to create scoring opportunities. Behind them, goalkeeper Olivia LaPan delivered another impressive performance, protecting the net and helping her teammates maintain their composure under pressure.

What stands out most about this team is not just the goals scored or the final score, but the heart they bring to the field every time they play. Their courage, determination, and refusal to give up continue to impress. They are learning to trust one another, communicate more effectively, and play as a unified team.

Each game is another opportunity for these young athletes to grow, not only as soccer players but also as teammates and individuals. Their progress is something to be proud of, and their commitment to one another is becoming more evident with every match.

This 3–2 victory was about more than putting a win in the books. It was a testament to what can happen when hard work, perseverance, and teamwork come together. Waits River Valley is building something special, and I could not be prouder of the courage, character, and fight these players continue to show.

Keep working, keep believing, and keep fighting, Waits River Valley! The future is bright for this team!

7/8 Soccer Team Highlight from Coach Chris Putney 7/8 Soccer Team Highlight from Coach Chris Putney

As the 7/8 soccer season comes to an end this Saturday, we celebrate a season marked by remarkable growth and achievement. Every practice has brought visible improvement, and Tom, Justin, and I are deeply proud of how far our athletes have come. We began with several newcomers to sports and many more experiencing soccer for the first time. Yet from day one, these student-athletes demonstrated genuine eagerness to learn, have fun, and most importantly be part of something larger than themselves.

The transformation on the field has been striking. From offensive positioning to defensive strategy, every player has noticeably improved. Our communication has strengthened, our coordination has become more effective, and our sportsmanship both on and off the field reflects the character we've worked to build.

We are incredibly proud of the growth, dedication, and teamwork this group continues to demonstrate. Our defensive line deserves special recognition for their steadfast commitment and commanding presence in controlling the field. Our offense has consistently created scoring opportunities, moving the ball with confidence and composure under pressure. Every player has contributed meaningfully, moving fluidly between positions and giving their all to support the team's success.

As this season comes to an end, we as coaches have witnessed tremendous growth and passion from every member of this team. Thank you for a memorable season.
