Hello QE Families!

We enjoyed our annual PIE Trunk or Treat event—it was so much fun seeing all of the creative costumes and bright smiles across our community. The excitement continued this past week as our 2nd graders enjoyed a beautiful day of learning on their field trip at Peace Valley Park. They had fun making great memories together. We also had our October PIE meeting where our Title 1 Reading Specialist, Mrs. Groller, shared valuable insights about what being a Title 1 school means for QE. As we look ahead, we are excited to kick off Red Ribbon Week with a lineup of fun theme days. Don’t forget that on Monday Dr. Hoffman will be at the Sixth Grade Center at 5:00PM for a Meet & Greet! I hope to see you there.

Dr. B’s Top 3 Showing Pride at QE

Each week, Dr. Bubser was looking for QE Pride (Perseverance, Respect, Control, Dependability, and Effort). Check out the top three from last week!

Let’s hear it for Jayden and Dan in 3rd grade who created a story to a picture book without words with Mrs. Foley. Their story was amazing, and then they were brave enough to present it to their classmates as well as other younger classes. What a great example of QE PRIDE!

We held our safety drill on Tuesday and I was on the lookout for students staying in control and showing dependability. While there were many students showing QE PRIDE, these dependable 3rd graders in Mrs. Riedi’s class were absolute superstars - Thank you Jayden, Cedric, Olivia, Lydia, Lilly, Santiago, Lucy, and Izzy.

I’m excited to celebrate Catalina in Mrs. Coggins’ homeroom. She was an amazing participant during Mrs. Bruchak’s bully prevention lesson. She gave great answers and was such a helpful contributor to the lesson. Thank you Catalina for showing respect and dependability. You were truly a role model for others.

Progress reports

First-Trimester Progress Reports were emailed home on Wednesday, 10/21. The report serves the purpose of answering this important question: “Is my child on track at this point in the year?” This Progress Report is NOT a report card, but rather a quick, informal snapshot of your child’s academic progress in each content area. You will also see their progress with College and Career Skills. The Progress Report also serves the purpose of providing you with current information before the upcoming parent/teacher conferences.

Get Ready for the QE Fall Parade and Celebrations

We are excited to announce details for our annual Fall Parade and classroom celebrations on Friday, October 30th! This is always a memorable day for our students, and we want to ensure everything runs smoothly so they can show off their creative costumes. This year, in our new location, our parade will start at 1:00PM and will be held outside on the track. The track is located behind the Sixth Grade Center. Parents are invited to find a parking spot and then gather outside the track fence to cheer our students on. Students will return to the building after the parade and will not be excused to leave early from school. They will continue with their day after the parade.

Please remember that all students must bring their costumes in a labeled bag to school. Costumes should be easy to put on over regular school clothes as students will be changing quickly prior to the parade. Click here for detailed information including costume guidelines (no violent themes or props).

Thank you for helping us make this a safe and successful day of fun!

We believe every child is a valued and treasured member of our school family. You can trust that we are fully committed to ensuring your child feels respected, safe, and supported in their growth.
