11/17/2025: Community Newsletter

Ingraham News
Hi Ingraham Families,
This month, Friends of Ingraham is launching our annual fundraising appeal and we need your support. These funds directly bridge the gap between what the district provides and what our students and staff truly need to thrive. Ingraham is growing: enrollment is rising, classes are fuller, programs are strengthening, and our positive culture is spreading. Your contribution ensures students receive the high-quality experience they deserve. Donate to Friends of Ingraham
With district budget challenges continuing, family support is essential. Friends of Ingraham helps fund critical needs and expanded learning opportunities that simply wouldn’t exist without community generosity.
This year’s $75,000 goal will support:
- Community Grants – Funding classroom projects, academic programs, and schoolwide initiatives. Last year, FOI awarded over $49,000 across 55 requests.
- Bright Futures – Providing food, clothing, toiletries, school supplies, and access to events for students experiencing housing or food insecurity.
- Staff & Teacher Appreciation – Monthly efforts to recognize and support the educators who make Ingraham exceptional.
Thank you for supporting Ingraham students, staff, and our school community.
Seattle Kraken Welcomes Ingraham Students to the Kraken Community Iceplex
What’s a career in the sports industry like, and how do I prepare to get into one? Those questions were posed by students in the WISHING Mentorship Program at Ingraham High School. WISHING stands for Women in Sports Helping Inspire the Next Generation. This year, the Seattle Kraken hockey team came forward to mentor students and provide answers to those questions and more. On November 12, the group got to tour the Kraken Community Iceplex near Northgate. They were able to see the new women’s hockey team, The Seattle Torrent, as they practiced on one of three ice rinks in the complex. They also caught a glimpse of the men’s Kraken hockey team practicing on another! Students toured various offices and got a close look at the Zamboni, which cleans the ice rinks. The WISHING Mentorship group meets once each month with the Kraken employees, exploring various types of jobs in the sports industry through group discussions and videos, job shadowing and more field trips. If interested in learning more or to apply, see Dr. G in room 107.

This Week’s PRIDE Award Winner: Ms. J
This week’s PRIDE Award goes to Ms. J, whose leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to equity continue to make our Ingraham community better. Ms. J plays a large role in leading professional development at the school. Her work ensures that our instructional practices grow stronger, more inclusive, and more aligned with what our students need to reach their full potential.
In addition to her leadership during the school day, Ms. J is the leading the charge for our second annual Resource Night on Tuesday, November 18th. Organized through Ingraham’s Racial Equity Team, this event is designed to support families who are new to Ingraham, new to Seattle Public Schools, or even new to the country. Thanks to Ms. J’s vision and coordination, the evening will include a community dinner and multiple info sessions that help families access essential information, build connections, and feel welcomed into our school.
Thank you Ms. J for all you do for Ingraham!
