๐ซ Whatโs Happening at School
A note from the Principal...
Dear Abraham Lincoln Families,
As we head into the final quarter, there will be many important events, activities, and milestones for our students. This is always a busy and exciting time, filled with opportunities for learning, growth, and celebration.
Please be sure to check in with your child's teacher about whatโs happening at school, including upcoming assignments, projects, and events. Staying connected will help ensure a successful and positive spring for everyone. Thank you for your continued support!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
~ Mrs. Ireland
Attendance Matters!
At Abraham Lincoln, we take attendance seriously because consistent school attendance is directly linked to student success. We track attendance weekly and will begin sharing our monthly progress with students and staff through a visual display in the school. I will also include these updates in each newsletter so families can stay informed.
Here is our Average Daily Attendance (ADA) so far this year:
-
September: 95%
-
October: 92%
-
November: 95%
December: 95%
January: 94%
February: 91%
March: 94%
Our goal is to maintain 95% or higher each month, and we are excited to work together to reach it!
You can help support strong attendance by scheduling appointments outside the school day whenever possible and planning family vacations during scheduled school vacation weeks. Every day of learning matters, and we appreciate your partnership in helping our students be present, engaged, and ready to learn.

National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry month! Celebrate the joy of language and creativity together with these simple and fun poetry activities you can do at home:
- Read a Poem a Day: Share a short, fun poem together each dayโrhyming books and silly poems are perfect for younger children.
- Create a Family Poem: Work together to write a simple poem about your family, a pet, or a favorite activity. Let your child draw a picture to go with it!
- Poetry Walk: Take a walk and look for things that inspire words (colors, sounds, nature). Come home and turn your observations into a short poem.
- Perform a Poem: Encourage your child to recite or act out a favorite poem for the family using expression, movement, and voices.
