Congratulations to Mrs. Vaden on being awarded the LMCU Roots in Education Grant! Each year Lake Michigan Credit Union celebrates impactful educators in our community by selecting 25 teachers for a $1000 grant. Mrs. Vaden was nominated by a parent that described Mrs. Vaden's classroom as a place where students can learn, grow, and be their best selves. She provides her students with individualized instruction based on their needs. Mrs. Vaden has created a community for her special education students. Hawkins is lucky to have Mrs. Vaden!

Brighton Area Schools is hosting the 2026 Annual JK-12th grade DISTRICT ART SHOW, with our opening night event tonight, May 8th from 6-8 pm. Mrs. Vermiglio did an incredible job making sure EVERY Hawkins student has a piece of artwork on display.

It's that time of year again for our big Hot Air Balloon lesson!

We need helping hands for each grade level in the cafeteria. The project is already planned for each class lesson, and you will be those amazing supporters to help our students create beautiful hot air balloons!

Below is the sign up sheet for each grade level...sign up for as many as you would like and are able! This is such an exciting project that our students love to see throughout the hallways of Hawkins as with wrap up the school year!

We only got one day to run again this week. I’m hoping the weather cooperates and allows the last 6 days of running club to happen. I want to thank all the amazing volunteers that braved the cold, windy weather to encourage all the runners Thursday!!

**To make up for the lost 2 days of running club, I will be giving each runner 6 laps and the associated rewards. I want to ensure that runners are able to make it to their goals before the end of the year. **

JK/K had 19 runners complete their 1st 5K!

1st grade had 12 runners complete a 5K!

2nd grade had 12 runners complete a 5K!

3rd grade had 10 runners complete a 5K!

4th grade had 12 runners complete a 5K!

Every year, National School Folders provide free Hawkins Friday folders for Hawkins students. This is made possible by the generous support of local sponsorship. There are two ways you can help sponsor the 26-27 Hawkins Friday folder:

• Business sponsorship: $350 (a discounted ad price) which includes a business ad on the 26-27 school folder.
• Personal sponsorship: $75 which includes your name on the back of the folder as a sponsor.

Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in their backpack. Accidents happen while your child is at school (bathroom accidents, playground mishaps, lunchroom spills, ripped or torn clothes, etc.) and we do not have extra clothes to lend out. Having an extra set here at school saves parents from having to make a trip to Hawkins during the day. We appreciate your help!

Parent Connect a web-based application that allow parents/guardians to view information for your child's current school year. Logging into Parent Connect will enable you to see your child's placement (date to be determined), report card, and lunch account. In addition, parents/guardians can add or change emergency contacts.
