PRINCIPAL'S NOTES

Puma Families,

Welcome back! As we begin a brand-new school year, we are excited to introduce our theme: Rooted in Excellence.

Just like a strong trees, our success begins with strong roots. At Postma, those roots are built thought relationships, character, learning, perseverance and a strong partnerships between our school and our families. When our roots are strong, our students have the foundation they need to grow, thrive and reach their full potential.

And what a way to begin the year! Postma is proud to continue our tradition of excellence as an "A" rated campus! This achievement reflects the hard work or our students, teachers, staff, families and community. It is something we celebrate, but even more importantly, it reminds us of what is possible when we grow together.

This year brings some exciting new growth to Postma! We are thrilled to open our Bilingual program in PK-5, including Two-Way Dual Language in Kindergarten and 2nd grade. We are so excited to offer these opportunities and services to our students and families. These services support our goal or building a school community where every learner can grow and flourish.

This year, as we celebrate 20 years of Postma, we will honor the people, traditions and values that have helped make our school special while continuing to grow toward an even brighter future.

Thank you for being an important part of our Postma family. Here's to a year of growing together, staying rooted, and reaching new heights!

CURRICULUM NIGHT AND TITLE 1 FAMILY MEETING

We hope you can join us to learn more about the curriculum your student will be learning this year. As well as how your student's spends their day! There are two identical sessions offered for your convenience. Choose whichever best fits your schedule. We will also have a Title 1 Family Meeting to share how our campus participates in the Title 1 program.

8 KEYS OF EXCELLENCE

Each month we highlight one of the 8 Keys of Excellence (8keys.org). As part of our character development, our students have opportunities to learn about each key, recognize opportunities to use the keys in their everyday life, and earn a key tag by cashing in their PUMA Cash. The September Key of the Month is Integrity. Ask your student to give you an example on how they use Integrity at home and at school.

We'd like to celebrate the wonderful Postma Staff! Help us by submitting celebrations for them to enjoy. PUMA ESSENTIALS: A HANDBOOK OF PROCEDURES FOR POSTMA FAMILIES

Our campus has developed Puma Essentials: A handbook of procedures for Postma Families (Spanish Version) to help explain common procedures. You can also find this document on our website. During the summer our campus staff will work to revise and edit Puma Essentials. If you have feedback, or suggestions for information to include or ways we can make campus procedures clearer, please send an email to postma@cfisd.net. We appreciate your continued support and feedback!
