A Thanksgiving Prayer
Father in Heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks.
Thank you for all the graces and blessings you have bestowed upon us, spiritual and temporal: our faith and religious heritage, our food and shelter, our health, the love we have for one another, our family and friends.
Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us continued graces and blessings throughout the coming year.
This we ask in the Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Brother. Amen.
Virtue of the Month: Empathy
Judge your neighbor’s feelings by your own, and in every matter be thoughtful. (Sir. 31:15)
God wants us to care about everyone's feelings.
From the perspective of the Catholic Graduate Expectations, an empathetic person...
- Is confident in the dignity of selves and others
- Believes that the cross is the ultimate sign of forgiveness
- Seeks and grants permission
School Bus Safety
School Bus Safety Week is taking place from October 20 to 24, 2025.
St. Christopher School will be taking part in School Bus safety training on Wednesday October 8, 2025.
School Bus safety week is a national program intended to raise awareness about school bus safety and the important role we all play in making our students’ daily transportation to and from school a safe journey.
Student Transportation of Peel Region (STOPR) would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to take special care and caution whenever you are approaching a school bus. Always watch out for children and never pass a school bus when it is stopped with its overhead flashing lights and stop arm activated, as students are being picked up or dropped off. We all play an important role in school bus safety and keeping children safe.
If you have children that ride a school bus this would be an excellent opportunity to review with them
all the important school bus safety tips & video’s located in the School Bus Safety section of our
website www.stopr.ca.
School Bus Driver Appreciation Day is on Wednesday October 22, 2025.
On Wednesday October 22, 2025, please take a moment to think about the important work our
school bus drivers do every day in transporting children safely to and from school. If you have children that ride a school bus, please let your driver know how much you appreciate their
dedication and commitment to your children’s safety. STOPR would like to take this opportunity to recognize all school bus drivers for the incredible job they do for our school communities.
Thank you to all our School Bus Drivers!

Winter Weather Bus Information
Winter is fast approaching and it’s important that everyone riding a school bus is familiar with
STOPR’s inclement weather and cancellation procedures.
The Region of Peel is divided into three weather zones (Zone 1, Zone 2, and Zone 3). This means
Bus cancellations may occur in specific zones, depending on local weather and road conditions.
STOPR monitors weather and road conditions closely and when necessary may cancel
transportation for one or more zones.
Please note that St. Christopher School is located in Zone 1. Please read the document for more information regarding bus cancellations due to weather.
Terry Fox Marathon of Hope
This year marks the 45th Anniversary of the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope. As is our tradition here at St.
Christopher, the Storm Community will be taking part in this important fundraising event on Thursday,
October 9th, 2025.
We are ready to once again, help keep Terry’s dream alive by spreading awareness and raising
money to support cancer research. We will begin our afternoon with a school-wide gathering in the
gym before heading out with our walking buddies. Primary and junior classes will pair up with older
students for the walk. Our route this year will take us into our local St. Christopher community.
We invite all students to wear RED & WHITE this day to show our support for our Canadian hero.
Please be sure to visit our St. Christopher School fundraising page by using the link below. All
donations can be made directly on the Terry Fox Foundation’s website for your convenience.
PA Day
A reminder there is a PA Day on Friday October 10, 2025. There will be no school for students on that day.
