Celebrating our Board Members
Each January, we take time to recognize and thank the dedicated individuals who serve on our School Board. These community leaders volunteer countless hours to ensure our students receive a high-quality education and that our schools continue to grow and succeed.
Our board members work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, staff, and families to make thoughtful decisions that support student achievement, safety, and opportunity. Their leadership, commitment, and service help shape the future of our schools and our community.
We are grateful for their dedication and proud to recognize their efforts during School Board Recognition Month. Thank you for your continued service to our students, staff, and families! Not pictured: Matt Jordan & Shanna Motl
6th Grade Wax Museum Brings History to Life
Each year, 6th-grade students bring history to life with their annual Wax Museum presentation in honor of Black History Month. This event highlights the achievements of influential minorities who have made a lasting impact on society.
Students research a historical figure, create a visual display, and present their findings to classmates before showcasing their work to the community. Through this hands-on learning experience, students gain a deeper understanding of history while educating others.
We extend our gratitude to the community for supporting our students and celebrating these important historical figures with us!
Nado Boosters Supporting Our Student-Athletes
Nado Boosters was brought to fruition in 2014 with one goal in mind—supporting every Nado student-athlete and activity participant in grades 7th through 12th. The Booster Club proudly supports both Roosevelt Middle School (RMS) and Field Kindley High School (FKHS) athletics and activities, helping ensure our students have the resources they need to succeed on and off the field.
The Nado Boosters meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 5:15 p.m. in the library, and community members are always welcome to attend and get involved.
Supporting athletic programs is a core part of our mission. Our fundamental task is to support the education of the whole student through the blending of learning, athletics, service, community, and family. Through the Nado Boosters, we are able to celebrate student achievement, promote school pride, and strengthen the support system around our RMS and FKHS programs.
Currently, the Booster Board is made up of alumni, parents, and community supporters—but we would love to see it grow! We are looking for more parents to join the board and help carry on this tradition, especially families with students currently active at RMS and FKHS. This is a great opportunity to be part of something meaningful while making a lasting impact on our Nado programs.
The Booster Club raises money through several efforts each year, including the annual Membership Drive, concessions at sporting events, spirit gear sales, and other fundraising activities. Every dollar raised goes right back into supporting our students, teams, and programs.
If you’re interested in joining, volunteering, or learning more, we encourage you to attend a meeting and become part of our Nado Team. Together, we can continue building something wonderful for our students and our community.
Body Venture at CES
Our K–2 students recently participated in Body Venture, a traveling health education exhibit for K–5 students operated by the Kansas State Department of Education’s Child Nutrition and Wellness Team.
This interactive inflatable experience allowed students to journey through the human body while learning about healthy food choices, physical activity, and how their bodies function. Through hands-on learning, students gained valuable knowledge about making healthy choices that support lifelong wellness.
We are proud to provide engaging opportunities like Body Venture that make learning fun and meaningful for our youngest learners.
Celebrating Black History Month at Coffeyville Public Schools
Coffeyville Public Schools proudly celebrated Black History Month through a series of impactful student-centered events at Field Kindley High School, led by Mrs. Megan Wade, History and African American History teacher. These events focused on helping students feel seen, heard, and valued while encouraging meaningful learning and reflection.
Students participated in panel discussions highlighting Black women in our community, Education, Resilience, and Activism, Black Manhood, and Black Culture & Mixed Race Culture. Panelists included local educators, community leaders, and professionals who shared their experiences, insight, and encouragement. These conversations created powerful opportunities for connection, learning, and personal growth.
The month wrapped up with the Black Culture & Mixed Race Culture panel, where students engaged in honest, eye-opening discussions about identity, community, and understanding. Speakers included Mr. Jordon Gullick, LaKisha Johnson, Mr. Deonta Wade, Mr. James Newton, and Ms. Liana Kay Wilson. Their insights, combined with the curiosity and engagement of the students, made this final discussion especially meaningful.
We extend our sincere thanks to all who contributed their time and voices to make Black History Month impactful for our students, and to Mrs. Wade for organizing a month full of thoughtful and inspiring conversations.
