The Fred Gressler Walkathon is well underway at EV. We are excited by all of our students who have already supported this upcoming event. We are aiming for 100% participation because even a small amount helps the PTA to reach their goal, and remember, their goal supports special programming for our Tigers. Something amazing is happening at White Plains Middle School, and we want you to be part of it!

The 2026 Fred Gressler Memorial Walk-a-thon is bringing our students, families, local businesses, and community together for weeks of school spirit, fundraising, friendly competition, and fun, culminating in our Walk-a-thon on October 30!

Our sponsorship campaign kicks off several weeks of fundraising, giving every student the opportunity to get involved, raise money for their school, compete for exciting incentives, and—most importantly—have fun while making a difference!

The funds raised help the WPMS PTA continue providing programs, activities, and opportunities that enrich the student experience and strengthen our school community throughout the year.

This month's theme is RESPONSIBILITY. Responsibility means being accountable for your words, actions and work.

Each month the student planner features a specific character trait that we focus on as part of our morning meeting. Character development is an essential component of being an #EPIC EV Tiger.

You have seen the posters and should watch the videos so you can make an informed vote.

Each day you will vote for different officers of our Student Organization by going to the Student Activities Page in Schoology.

Voting will take place as noted below:

Eastview has a long tradition of honoring the veterans of the American Armed Forces on Veterans Day every year. A special part of our Veterans Day school assembly is the sharing of pictures of veterans who are friends and family members of Eastview students and staff. If you would like to share a picture of a veteran to be included in this year's presentation, please follow the directions below:

The deadline for submitting a picture of a veteran is Friday, October 23rd.

To submit a picture for this year's video tribute to our veterans, please follow these steps:

1. Go to "Groups" in Schoology. (Make sure to go to "groups" not "courses")

2. Click on "My Groups" in the upper right corner of the page.

3. Click on "Join Group" on the right side of the page.

4. Enter this code: BH89-9TRH-VF42D

5. You have now joined the group "Eastview's Veterans Day Video Tribute 2026" in Schoology.

6. Once you have joined the group, select the "Media Album" to add your veteran's picture. Please label your picture with your name.

Stick Together!

Collaborate with your classmates during recess to complete the Stick Together color-by-letter sticker poster. You have to fill it in to find out what it is. 😉

Kids4Tech is a yearlong, coding club. Important information:

First Meeting: Tuesday, October 20th in room 110 from 2:35 PM - 5:00 PM

· This club goes until 5pm! There is NO LATE BUS to take students home.

· This club meets every Tuesday until the graduation on April 27th. Attendance is required!

Parents can email Ms. Berrios at laurenberrios@wpcsd.k12.ny.us with questions.

1. Does it help with my assignment?
2. Do I have permission if people are in the photo?
3. Would I be comfortable if my teacher, or school administration see it?

If the answer to all three is yes, snap away!

Respect everyone's privacy, stay focused on your project, and take pictures that show what you've learned.
