April 2025 Edition

This and That at Red Mill

March was jam-packed with activities for our Red Mill community! We began the month with Read Across America Week. Students were able to dress like their favorite book character and enjoyed read alouds by some familiar teacher faces. We then raised awareness and funds for our Mini-Thon, which raised over $4,000 for the Four Diamonds Fund! Way to go, Red Mill! We then rounded out the month with a very successful STEAM night led by teachers, students and community volunteers. We sure are lucky to have such a supportive and engaging community!

April: Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child, a time to recognize the sacrifices and contributions of children in military families. Purple represents all branches of the military, symbolizing our unity and support. On Thursday, April 10th, we invite all students, staff, and district residents to participate in Purple Up! Day by wearing purple.

Let’s come together as a community to show our appreciation and encouragement for our military-connected students. Wear your purple proudly on April 10th and help spread awareness!

Eggstravaganza

PSSA Update

Beginning on April 23, students in grades 3-4 will be taking the PSSA. Testing dates and session information can be found below. Please note: testing will begin promptly at the start of each school day. We ask that families try to avoid morning appointments and we also ask that all students who are testing arrive on time. We are not able to grant access into the testing session for students once the session has started. Thank you for your help and cooperation with this.

4/23 - 4/25: English Language Arts-- for students in grades 3-4

4/29 - 4/30: Math-- for students in grades 3-4

You can help your student prepare for this assessment by ensuring they have a good night's sleep, eat a well-balanced breakfast, and pass along encouraging words before they arrive to school!
