In the event your child is absent from school due to illness/injury, please upload your documentation to the Student Absence Portal. The proper documentation MUST be provided in order to excuse the absence. A phone call to the school, stating your student is absent, is not necessary. Remember, parent notes will only be accepted during the current 6-week grading period, of the absent day.

Get ready for a night to remember! The 2026 Junior/Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 8:00 pm at The Pine, Charlotte. Don’t miss out on an unforgettable evening of dancing, fun, and memories. We can’t wait to see you there!

The prom theme will be released during the Prom Fashion Show on February 11th

Tickets now on sale for our annual WHS Prom Fashion Show. This is a must see event! All grade levels and family members are invited to join us for the once a year special event! Senior students will be modeling the most up to date prom fashion trends from local dress shops. Over 50 raffle door prizes will be awarded throughout the event (must be present to win). Directly following the show, Seniors and Juniors will be granted the opportunity to purchase 2 prom tickets at a discounted price of $60/each. Ticket prices will increase to $85/each the following day! Must attend the event to purchase tickets (doors will be locked once the show starts). Don't have a date yet? Not to worry, get the ticket now and work out your date later.

Teachers/Staff - February 6th is the deadline to apply for the PTSO Mini-Grant.

Weddington High School's Class of 2026 Commencement will be held on Monday, June 8th at 8:00am at Warrior Stadium. Additional details regarding graduation, including the process for claiming tickets, will be shared with seniors and their parents in late April.

All visitors to the school must enter through the front doors of the school using the video doorbell system. All visitors must check in at the main office during the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, which are the main office hours on days that school is in session.

Forgotten Items/Drop Offs/Deliveries:

• items can be placed on the drop-off cart located outside the front doors
• items will be brought inside before the end of each block and placed on the table in the foyer
• please notify your student that their item has been dropped off - WE WILL NOT CALL STUDENTS OUT OF CLASS TO RETRIEVE ITEMS
• students can retrieve items in between class periods ONLY - they will not be permitted to go outside
• lunches can be placed inside the bin, and will be brought in before the end of each block and before the start of each lunch period
• PLEASE NOTE: items such as Chromebooks, phones, headphones, ear buds, etc., should NOT be left on the cart outside, and should be brought inside to the drop-off table

All UCPS families will be responsible for paying a $30 annual technology user fee per student. The technology fee will be waived for students who qualify for free lunch. If you haven't paid your student's 2025-2026 technology fee, please scan the QR code below.

Effective July 1, 2025, Leon's Law is a North Carolina state law (Session Law 2025-46) that changes how education records are handled for students who are under 18 and enrolled in college courses. Under this law, parents/guardians of minor students who are claimed as dependents on the most recent federal tax return may request access to certain education records. This law works alongside FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), the federal privacy law that protects student education records.
