Celebrating the Best Parts of Us
In Ms. Shaud and Mrs. Reigle’s 5th grade classes, students read *The Best Part of Me* by Wendy Ewald. Inspired by the book, they each selected their own 'best part' and wrote a short piece explaining their choice. Selections varied from their brain, eyes, and hands to their lungs and bones. The completed writing was paired with a photograph and proudly displayed in the hallway for everyone to admire. We love ALL parts of you, 5th grade!
Discovering the Power of Opposable Thumbs: A Hands-On Lab in Science Class
In Ms. Beare and Mrs. Yarnevich's science class, students conducted a lab on primates. They explored the importance of opposable thumbs by attempting various tasks, first with the use of their thumbs and then without. Through this experiment, students discovered how much easier it is to write, tie shoes, and throw balls when thumbs are involved!
