THANK YOU!!!!!
Saying that I am proud and grateful doesn’t even begin to capture how I feel about this incredible community. New Prospect is the amazing school it is because of you—your support, your energy, and your willingness to come together for our students. Watching our families rally around this fundraiser has been truly inspiring.
Our students have shared, participated, and given with so much joy, and our community has responded in the most generous way. We have already raised over $20,000 for our school, and that is a testament to the love and commitment you have for NPE.
Let’s keep this momentum going! Today’s glow party was an absolute blast, and the excitement from our students was contagious. Thank you for everything you are doing to help us continue making New Prospect the vibrant, supportive, and thriving school we all know and love.
Thank you especially to Danielle Vedder, Brittany Cox and our amazing staff for making it all happen!
Hope to see you at the fun run on Friday!
Placement Process at New Prospect
At New Prospect, everything we do is planned, purposeful, and aligned with our vision that every child will Grow, Celebrate, and Matter. Each spring, we approach student placement with the same level of intention and care. Our teachers and administrators come together to review every child’s academic progress, social–emotional needs, and support services such as EIP, TAG, ESOL, and IEPs.
Our goal is to create well‑balanced classrooms where all students can thrive. While we value parent input, final placements must reflect what the school determines to be the most appropriate learning environment for each student. This collaborative and thoughtful approach ensures that every child is set up for success from the very first day of school.
I want to reassure you that our placement process is incredibly thoughtful and intentional. Our teachers and administrators sit together and discuss every single student to determine the environment where they will learn and grow best. Nothing about this process is random or rushed—we take great care to make decisions that truly support each child.
If you want your input considered for next school year, please fill out this form by April 24th.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time when schools and communities across the country come together to promote the safety, well‑being, and healthy development of all children.
Throughout the month, our school will highlight ways students can learn about trusted adults, personal safety, kindness, and creating supportive environments. We will also participate in schoolwide awareness activities such as wearing blue on April 3rd to show our commitment to helping every child feel safe and valued.
You can support these efforts at home by talking with your child about identifying safe adults, expressing their feelings, and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right. Working together, we can help build strong families and a community where every child can grow and thrive.
Thank you for partnering with us in nurturing a safe and caring school environment for all children.
The Student Success Skills Inventory is used to measure student growth across Student Success Skill standards taught by teachers.
Students complete the inventory by indicating if they almost always, always, sometimes, or never apply these skills in the areas of Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Competence, Problem solving, Reflective Learning Strategies, and Sense of Belonging.
Students in 3rd-5th grades complete this 15-20 question inventory each Fall and Spring.
SPRING ADMINISTRATION: April 13, 2026 – April 17, 2026
QUESTIONS? If you have any questions about the SSS Inventory, please contact Christina McLeod @ mcleodcr@fultonschools.org
Inventory Opt Out: Parents can choose to opt their student out of the inventory. To opt out, parents must submit written requests to Amy Lemons.
Georgia Milestones for students in Grades 3-5
Hello Panther Families!
Our 3rd-5th grade students will get to show what they know on the Georgia Milestones beginning next week! Georgia Milestones assessments are designed to provide information about how well students are mastering grade level content standards. We will be in “testing mode” throughout our building from 8:00 AM-11:00 AM each morning during the testing window, and we will not be accepting volunteers or visitors during that time. Our Specials schedule will also be modified on testing days. 3rd grade will attend Specials from 10:20 – 11:05 AM and 2nd grade will attend Specials from 8:00 – 8:45 AM. Below, you will find the Milestones testing schedule for our 3rd-5th grade students.
Parents often ask….what can I do to help my student?
Students who are prepared, calm, and rested perform better on tests. Here are some of the many ways to help your student approach Georgia Milestones in a relaxed, positive way:
- Encourage your student to follow directions carefully, avoid careless errors, and review work.
- Explain the purpose of the tests. The assessments give students an opportunity to show what they have learned in school. They also give teachers information that helps them plan instruction.
- Point out that some items may be more difficult than others. They only need to do their best using strategies they have been taught in class.
Most importantly….
- Be certain your student gets plenty of sleep and has a healthy breakfast and lunch. Taking tests is hard work for many students and can require a lot of energy.
- Be certain your student your student is at school on time. Rushing and worrying about being late could affect performance on the tests.
Students should be in their classrooms by 7:40AM to get prepared to start the testing period on time.
Technology:
*Only testing devices (FCS laptops) will be allowed in the testing rooms.
*Smart watches, Kids Apple Watch, Fitbits, cell phones, and ALL other electronic devices are NOT allowed in the testing rooms.
Please Note:
*Personal communication devices are not allowed in schools for students for PreK – 5. ( This includes Smartwatches, Kids Apple Watch, etc.) Please ensure these items remain at home.
*These items are not allowed in the testing rooms. Items will be collected and can be held for parent pickup.
