RULER Parent University Virtual Presentation—Nov. 11
We invite all parents and guardians to join us via Zoom next Wednesday, November 11, at 6:30 p.m. to participate in our virtual Parent University: Connecting RULER Social-Emotional Learning from School to Home, presented by Fremont staff.
Across all grade levels, our classrooms have been actively embedding the RULER framework (developed by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence) into daily learning. During this virtual interactive session, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of our schoolwide RULER rollout and take home practical strategies to use the Mood Meter and Charter concepts within your family routine.

Join Us to Help Shape Our Next Strategic Plan—Nov. 18
FSD79 is in the process of gathering feedback from parents/guardians, students, staff, alumni, and community members as we develop a refresh of our next strategic plan. We need your input! The next strategic plan will span from 2027-2032.
Please join us for a parent/guardian feedback session:
- Wednesday, November 18
- 7:00-8:00 p.m. (following the monthly PTO meeting)
- Fremont Middle School Media Center
Here is your chance to help shape our future. Input on priorities and big ideas for the future of our Fremont schools will be collected. This is just the first opportunity for families to share their feedback. Additional opportunities will be forthcoming in December and January.
Free childcare will be provided for children ages 3+. While it is not required to RSVP to attend, please do so here if you intend to take advantage of childcare.
Artificial Intelligence Literacy Framework
Since our spring 2026 release of the District’s initial FSD79 AI Guidelines, we have been dedicated to creating meaningful student learning experiences that reinforce these guidelines. Our AI Literacy Framework Team recently developed age-appropriate learning experiences across our schools. The team established specific themes to help guide these lessons, as follows:
How AI Works
Safety & Data Privacy
Critiquing AI Outputs
Academic Integrity
Prompt Engineering
Digital Citizenship and Societal Impact
While our youngest students (grades PK-2) will have little to no AI exposure, we do want to provide learning experiences in the older grades that allow our students to be safe, ethical, and appropriate users of AI. Examples of lessons we are integrating during Trimester One include understanding what AI is, prompt engineering (grades 3-5), and AI ethics, safety, and the environment (grades 6-8).
Our goal is to ensure our students are equipped to navigate their future (and present) as responsible digital citizens in an AI-integrated environment, while prioritizing a “human-in-the-loop” approach when using AI as a partner in learning. Our AI Literacy Framework Team will continue to collaborate throughout the school year, and we will also annually review our district’s guidelines in response to the ever-evolving technological landscape.
