Celebrating Blessed Fulton J. Sheen
Dear St. Bernard Families,
On September 24, 2026, the Catholic Church celebrated the beatification of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. He is now formally recognized as Blessed Fulton J. Sheen—bringing him one step closer to canonization as a saint.
Known as “America’s Bishop,” Blessed Fulton Sheen was a gifted archbishop, author, teacher, and pioneering Catholic communicator. Through his television program, Life Is Worth Living, he brought the message of Jesus Christ into millions of American homes.
Blessed Fulton Sheen taught families that faith should be practical, joyful, and at the center of daily life. He also spent one hour each day praying before the Blessed Sacrament, a devotion known as the Holy Hour.
As a Catholic school community, we invite our families to learn more about his inspiring life and join us in prayer:
Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed Fulton J. Sheen
Heavenly Father,
we thank You for the faithful witness of Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, who dedicated his life to proclaiming the Gospel and leading others to Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Through his intercession, strengthen our families, deepen our love for the Holy Eucharist, and help us use our words and actions to share Your truth and love with others.
If it is Your holy will, grant the miracle needed for his canonization so that he may one day be honored as a saint of the Catholic Church.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, pray for us!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to share our 2026–2027 Extracurricular Activities Schedule! Students will have many opportunities to discover new interests, develop their talents, make friends, and become more involved in our school community through clubs, tutoring, sports, and other activities.
To kick off the year, we invite our students to St. Bernard Clubchella on Tuesday, September 29, from 2:00–2:45 p.m. During this exciting event, students will explore the available clubs, meet the club leaders, and sign up for the activities that interest them.
After students register, each club leader will send families additional information about meeting dates, required supplies, and any associated costs.
We are also inviting parents and guardians to share their time and talents by volunteering to coach a team or lead a club alongside our teachers. If you have a special skill, hobby, or interest that you would enjoy sharing with our students, we would love to hear from you! Please contact the school office if you are interested in volunteering.
Extracurricular activities will begin on Monday, October 12 after the festival activities. Most after-school activities will meet from 3:15–4:00 p.m., unless a different time is listed on the schedule.
We cannot wait for our students and families to discover their interests, share their gifts, and find their club at St. Bernard Clubchella!

Uniform Information
Uniform Dress Code
St. Bernard School chooses uniforms for their students because:
- Encourages distinctions of character and personality instead of appearance
- Places emphasis on learning, not clothing
- Reduces peer pressure and social stigmas
- Equalizes economic diversity
- Allows for cohesive presentation as a group
- A simple dress code and uniform allow teachers to enforce the code equally
- Lowers long-term clothing costs
- Facilitates security by identifying outsiders
- Enhances school spirit
- Simplifies dressing and dress code
St. Bernard School dress code is intended to instill modesty, good grooming habits, and neatness in appearance. It is to maintain a proper academic environment within the school and reduce superficial competitiveness so that character rather than appearance can be the focus.
Students are expected to come to school appropriately dressed at all times, with clean and in-order clothing.
The parent is responsible for ensuring the child can be and is in uniform each day.
- There should be no holes in, or stains on, the uniform
- Students wear clothing in proportion to their body size
- Tattoos, both temporary and permanent, are not allowed
- Fingernails are clean and trimmed.
In order to facilitate lost-and-found items so they may be returned to their rightful owner, names should be written on all clothing.
General Guidelines
School is no place for make up jewelry, nail polish, or artificial or sculptured nails. Costume jewelry may not be worn, and the school will not be held responsible for missing items. Smart watches are not allowed. Girls may wear one pair of stud earrings worn in the lobes only, and one simple necklace of a religious nature is the only jewelry that is permitted.
Hairstyles: St, Bernard School expects proper grooming for all students. The school embraces traditional hairstyles and haircuts. It is the parent's responsibility to monitor their children's hairstyles.
- Boys’ haircuts must be evenly layered with no discernible lines or designs. Hair must be above the ears, eyebrows, and one inch above the collar. Cuts should be neat and trimmed. Boys must always be clean-shaven.
- Girls are never permitted to wear make-up or nail polish. All hair accessories must be the color of the plaid of the uniform.
Uniforms Companies
For the 2026-2027 school year, the school will have Michael's Uniform as the only approved vendor to sell the school's uniform.
