Topaz
As we approach the end of Term 2 and look forward to the upcoming holidays, it's a wonderful time to reflect on the exciting learning journey we have had so far. This term has been filled with adventurous and hands-on experiences that have sparked curiosity and enthusiasm in our students. In Literacy, students continued to explore new sounds each week and expressed their learning creatively through art. Our weekly mentor texts have been a highlight, with students eagerly engaging in discussions and activities that introduce new concepts and vocabulary.
Maths lessons have been full of energy and discovery! Through fun, interactive activities, students have been developing their understanding of numbers, shapes, and measurement. Science has taken us into the fascinating world of living things. We planted vegetables in our class garden and students took pride in caring for their plants by watering, weeding, and observing growth daily. This hands-on experience helped them build both scientific knowledge and valuable life skills.
Topaz class also enthusiastically participated in all school events this term, showcasing teamwork and a love for learning beyond the classroom. We are proud of all that the students have achieved this term and look forward to more exciting learning ahead in Term 3. Wishing all our families a safe and relaxing holiday break!
K Red
K Red students have shown steady academic and social growth this term. In reading, they are increasingly confident in using phonics to decode simple words and are recognising and reading sight words. They enjoy engaging with shared and independent texts, using pictures and context to build understanding. In writing, students are beginning to form simple sentences using familiar sounds and sight words. In mathematics, students are making progress in number recognition, counting, and ordering to 30.
They are developing early skills in building and continuing patterns, as well as basic addition up to 10, through hands-on, play-based learning experiences. The class has also actively participated in a range of activities that promote physical and social development. They showed care for their environment during Clean Up Australia Day and thoroughly enjoyed the Sports Zing Active Program, which supported their teamwork and motor development. Students are learning to share, take turns, and work cooperatively with peers. Their growing confidence, enthusiasm, and positive interactions contribute to a caring, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
3/4 Gold
In Term 2, 3/4 Gold has been learning all about polar bears. We've discovered where they live, what they eat, and the problems they face as the world changes. The students have created beautiful artworks to showcase their understanding of these amazing animals.
With all their hard work, they are now true polar bear experts! They have also been busy writing information reports to share what they've learned.

5/6 Diamond
Where has the term gone? Throughout the term the students in Diamond participated in the Zing Athletics program which gave everyone the opportunity to develop their skills and technique. We developed skills in long jump, discuss, shot put and running technique in relays. It was fantastic to see the students eager to participate and they certainly made the most of each lesson.
Within the classroom, the students set learning goals which they will work towards achieving. We have had a fantastic term of learning and the highlight that the students have been looking forward to is camp! We can’t wait to share the wonderful experience of camp. I’m sure the students attending will have a fantastic time!
