Dear Staff and Families,

Work continued over the weekend into the start of this week and, as promised, I am pleased to share that we have reached an important milestone in our restoration efforts. The user-facing systems and services our students, staff, and families rely upon have now largely been restored, and we continue to make progress on the remaining devices and services.

Technology Restoration

  • The onboarding of secondary student devices has been successfully completed, restoring Chromebook access for our intermediate and high school students.

At the elementary level, work continues to onboard Chromebook carts in grades 1, 2, and 3, with grades 4 and 5 also being completed at our elementary schools.

  • Parent Portal access will be restored by the end of the day tomorrow, allowing families once again to view student information and report absences electronically.

While these visible services have returned, work continues behind the scenes to complete the restoration process and support our systems moving forward.

Moving Forward

We have now progressed to a point where our regular user-facing systems have been restored and our schools can increasingly return to their normal routines. As a result, this will conclude our series of daily districtwide restoration progress updates. Going forward, technology information and updates will return to our normal school-based communication channels.

This does not mean that all work associated with this incident has concluded. Our external cybersecurity and information technology experts continue their work behind the scenes, including the ongoing investigation and other necessary technical work.

Should new information become available and an update is warranted, we will provide one accordingly either to the district community or directly to individuals as appropriate.

Over the past two weeks, we have moved from a district without network or telephone access to one in which our phones, building systems, staff and student devices, internet access, instructional tools, and other essential services are once again available. That has required an extraordinary amount of work behind the scenes and tremendous patience and flexibility across our schools.

Thank you to our Technology Department, staff, students, families, and external partners for helping us reach this point. There is still work happening, but our schools are moving forward.
