Your Voice Matters!
Take the D303 Facilities Survey!
Dear D303 Community:
What do you want your schools to look like and do for our students over the next 30 years?
At the charge of the School Board, our D303 Communitywide Education Facilities Committee spent five months analyzing and discussing our schools, campuses, and learning facilities… and collectively answering that question in the Committee’s Final Report, which was presented to the D303 School Board on April 13.
The Committee strongly supports a communitywide facilities investment totaling approximately $295.6 million, covering 16 projects across the community, to be funded by asking voters to approve a referendum on an upcoming election ballot. The School Board is discussing the Committee’s report and findings over the next several months before making a decision regarding a potential referendum. And we want our entire community to inform that discussion and decision.
Please consider taking a few minutes to watch this video, which summarizes the Committee’s work and findings, and to take this Facilities Survey. Your feedback will be shared directly with the School Board next month.
And you can stay up to date on the Board’s discussion on our Facilities Committee website. At last night’s School Board meeting, D303 Executive Director Amanda Stuber presented a detailed run-through of the facility-renewal and accessibility projects that are included in the Committee’s findings.
We’ve worked hard over the past several years to strengthen our academics, our fiscal foundation, and our overall building efficiency–all essential components of fulfilling our D303 commitment statement: Together Building Pathways to Excellence.
The one gap in that pathway is our facilities. Please be a part of the discussion and decision on how to solidify our pathway to excellence … and a limitless future for our students.
Thank you for being a part of the D303 community.
Paul
