ITS/EdTech Updates
Student Chromebook Collection
Student Chromebooks will be replaced over the summer. This means that all students must turn in their Chromebooks and chargers at the end of this school year to their site, no exceptions.
Collections will vary by site, but should occur during these last two weeks of the school year. General information about this is being shared with students and families, but please also send out information to your students so the info comes from all sources.
Summer programs will have access to Chromebooks, which will be deployed at the start of their programs.
At the beginning of the school year, new Chromebooks and chargers will be deployed to all students.
Promethean Need Questionnaire
We want to understand how we can best support you in using your new Promethean technology effectively. Please take a few minutes to share your needs and preferences.
Reading Screener for the 2025-26 School Year
In accordance with California Education Code Section 56335, the California Department of Education has mandated that all school districts implement universal screening for risk of dyslexia beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. This legislation requires schools to screen all students in kindergarten through second grade.
The California Department of Education has approved four evidence-based screening tools that meet the state's rigorous criteria for identifying students at risk of dyslexia and other reading difficulties. After careful consideration, Amira has been selected as our Reading Screener for the following reasons: 1) It provides screening in both English and Spanish; 2) It integrates into PUSD’s existing English Language Arts curriculum; and 3) It can be administered whole class instead of one-on-one assessments.
In order to avoid over-assessment, we will use the integrated progress monitoring tools in Amira in place of iReady Diagnostics for Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Voice Amplification Microphones
In order to ensure your microphones function reliably, they should be charged daily after use. Please do not allow the batteries on your microphones to be completely depleted, as the battery may not charge again if that occurs.
