Weymouth Early Childhood Center
2025-2026
March 15, 2026
Good Morning,
As we move further into March, we are starting to notice signs that spring is on the way. The weather is getting warmer, the snow has finally melted, and the days are becoming brighter. It is wonderful to see the playground again after being buried in snow for some time!
The warmer days fit perfectly with our current curriculum theme of “What Happens When the Weather Changes?” Students have been observing the world around them and noticing how the weather affects the things they see every day. As the snow melts and temperatures rise, we are talking about what happens to the ground, puddles, plants, and animals when winter begins to turn into spring.
In the classroom, students explored different kinds of weather, discussed how weather changes over time, and shared their observations about what they notice outside. Students also became scientists and created rain!
You can support learning at home by talking with your child about the weather each day. Ask questions such as::
What does the weather look like today?
How did the snow melt?
What happens when the sun comes out?
These conversations help children build observation skills and connect classroom learning to the world around them. We are excited to continue exploring weather with the children and to see what signs of spring we discover together!
Even though the days are getting warmer, our playground can still feel quite cool, especially in the morning. Please continue to send your child to school with a jacket so they can stay comfortable while enjoying time on the playground.
Reptiles, turles and amphibians, oh my! We are excited to welcome Joe's Crazzy Critters to Weymouth ECC on March 25th and March 26th. Students will have the opportunity to learn about creatures from all over the world with close-up, hands on experiences.

About this Series
The Backpack Connection Series was created by TACSEI to provide a way for teachers and parents/caregivers to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and reduce challenging behavior.
Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps parents stay informed about what their child is learning at school and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home.
