It is hard to believe, but this is our last full week of May! This has been a Spring like no other for our elementary students and staff. We are in the final days of being two elementary schools PreK to Grade four. As of July 1st, we are officially two separate elementary schools - an early elementary: Sgt. Shay Memorial Elementary School educating all Amesbury students in preschool through grade two, and Charles C. Cashman Elementary School educating all Amesbury students grades three, four, and five. This is a very significant transition for all of our community.
I am definitely starting to feel a sense of "loss" in some ways. I have loved being a Principal for students grades preK through grade four and there is definitely a part of my job that I will miss it. It has been the most unique five years of our lives, that has led to being asked to recreate our elementary schools. That is a very exciting task for us: learning and creation.
I rest assured that myself and the Cashman Staff have made strong connections with our families today that will definitely carry us along for the next three to four years. We have a common goal: the success of our students.
A NOTE OF GRATITUDE TO OUR PTO!
Thanks to our PTO funding, we are able to plan and bring a real fun and motivational Basketball Madness Assembly to all of our students. This Friday, May 26th! The kids will love it!
