• Wednesday, March 12 - School Committee Meeting in BHS Library at 7:00 pm
• Friday, March 14 - Teacher Inservice Day - NO SCHOOL
• Thursday, March 27 - March Movement and Family Night PEAK event from 5:30-6:30 pm (more information to come)

It was wonderful seeing you all at our Academic Showcase/Culture Night on Thursday! I have to admit it is my favorite night of the year! There is so much fun, excitement and learning that has happened up to this culminating event. I hope you all enjoyed it just as much. Thank you for your continued support with your child and their education!

Our students at Vine Street read all ten Maine Chickadee Award nomination books. Then they voted for their favorite of the ten nominees. The winner for Vine Street was the book called "Black Beach: A Community, An Oil Spill, and the Origin of Earth Day" by Shaunna and Jon Stith. Students seemed to gravitate towards the book because it was a historical fiction book where they learned about the importance of taking care of the planet and how disasters can harm animals. The results were sent into the state committee and the Maine winner will be announced this spring. A big thank you to Mrs. Dufresne (Mrs. D) for bringing this fun learning to Vine Street School!

PTO meet on Wednesday, March 5 to discuss some upcoming events. Conversations were had around continued fundraising efforts and supporting students and staff with funds. Recently they supported teachers with purchasing things for our Academic Showcase/Culture Night and reaching out to Lamey-Welleham for needed sneakers for PE classes.

The next PTO meeting is Wednesday, April 2 at 6:00 pm. Please join us if you can!
