Superintendent'sLetter September 26, 2020

Saturday September 26, 2020 Update

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and the Lebanon Community,

Transition to Five Day In-Person Model

On Wednesday, September 23rd, the Lebanon School Board voted to move from the A/B Hybrid Model to a Five Day In-Person Model. The date targeted for the first day of the Five Day In-Person or Fully Remote Model is Monday, October 26th.

The expectation is that children will remain in the selected model through December 22nd with the understanding that individual reasons for a change may occur.

Families are being asked to select either the Five Day In-Person Model or the Fully Remote Model for each child.

Transportation-Busing Decision for Five Day In-Person Model

Last evening, Friday, September 25th, the Lebanon School Board voted to allow two students to sit together on the bus which will result in students sitting closer together than three feet. This allows for the current start and end times to remain the same at all schools. All bus drivers and students must wear masks and there will be assigned seats.

We are encouraging families to transport students to and from school if possible.

Teacher In-Service Day Friday, October 23rd

The Board decided that Friday, October 23rd, will be a Teacher In-Service Day to assist with the transitioning to the Five Day In-Person Model. There will be no school for students on Friday, October 23rd.

Required Information: Selection of Fully Remote Learning or Five Day In-Person Model and Transportation/Busing Needs Form

In order for our schools to plan appropriately for this transition, we need to collect critical information regarding the learning model you will be selecting for your child. If your child is participating in the Five Day In-Person model we will also need to know what your transportation needs will be.

The form must be completed for each child, even if you are not changing from the Fully Remote learning model.

Families should complete the form for each child by Wednesday, September 30th at 4:00 pm. If you have specific questions, please contact the School Principal.

Schools will start to make phone calls to families on Thursday and Friday if the form is not complete, to see if there are questions we can help to answer and to ensure we have accurate information.

Please use this link to access the form.

Thank you for taking the time to read through the documents, for asking questions, and for completing the form.

I would like to thank our school administrators, teachers, and all of our staff members who are working incredibly hard under very challenging circumstances to support our students and families.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Dr. Joanne Roberts
