Dear Spring ISD Families and Staff:

Please be advised that all Spring ISD schools and facilities will reopen for normal operations tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 27. We are excited to welcome our students and staff back to campus and resume our regular schedule.

The safety of our students, staff and community remains our top priority. As we transition back to regular operations, we ask for your patience and understanding, particularly with bus transportation.

Some routes may experience delays, so please plan accordingly and allow extra time as needed.

Here are some key reminders for tomorrow:

  • Safety First: Please continue to prioritize safety while traveling to and from school and district facilities.

  • Dress Warm: Cold temperatures are expected. Please bundle up and dress warmly, especially for students and families waiting at bus stops.

  • Bus Delays: Some bus routes may run behind schedule tomorrow morning. We appreciate your patience as our transportation teams work to ensure safe travel for all.

  • Excused Tardies: To accommodate any potential delays, we will excuse tardiness for students arriving late on the bus.

  • Buildings Are Ready: All district buildings have been thoroughly walked through and prepared, and are ready to reopen to welcome students and staff in the morning.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we work together to ensure a smooth reopening. For updates, go to www.springisd.org and follow us on our social media channels.

We look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow!

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are happy to share that our Transformation campuses will soon begin short meetings with students called EB Talks.

An Emergent Bilingual (EB) student is a student who is learning English and receives ESL (English as a Second Language) support at school.

During an EB Talk, a campus administrator will meet with your child to:

  • Celebrate their progress

  • Review their English test results (TELPAS)

  • Help set goals for this school year

Our goal is for students to grow at least one level each year in English:
Beginning → Intermediate → Advanced → Advanced High

Why This Test Is Important

Students take a state test called TELPAS to show how they are growing in English. The results help schools give students the right support and know when they may no longer need ESL services.

TELPAS testing begins on Monday, Feb. 16. Your campus will share the exact testing dates soon. If you have questions, please contact your child’s campus.

Thank you for supporting your child’s learning. We are proud of their hard work and progress!

Sincerely,
Spring ISD

Attendance Matters: HERE'S WHY! 👇👇👇 Attendance Matters: HERE'S WHY! 👇👇👇

Attendance Reminder for Parents and Guardians

The State of Texas requires students to maintain at least 90% attendance, which means scholars must be present for 90% of the school days to meet state requirements. Attendance is closely monitored, and previous attendance contracts will be reviewed. New contracts may be issued as needed to ensure scholars meet the criteria for promotion to the next grade level, which is one of the requirements for advancing.

We appreciate your partnership in helping your scholar attend school daily and on time, as consistent attendance is essential for academic success.

  1. Missed Lessons = Falling Behind: Even one day can mean missing critical instructions and activities, making it harder for your child to catch up.

  2. Impact on Future Success: Consistent attendance is a strong predictor of academic achievement and future opportunities.

  3. Building Resilience: Regular attendance teaches your child the value of perseverance and responsibility—essential skills for success in life.

  4. Stronger Friendships: Daily presence helps your child develop and sustain friendships, which are crucial for emotional and social development.

  5. Healthy Routine: Attending school every day establishes a stable routine, promoting better mental and physical health.

Be sure to contact our Attendance Clerk regarding your child being absent for any reason.

ONE VOICE. ONE VISION. ONE PACK. ONE VOICE. ONE VISION. ONE PACK.

KEY PRIORITIES!

  • Attendance: Please help your child be at school on time each day, ready to learn. Every day counts in their success.

  • Learning at Home: Take a few minutes each evening to ask your child about their day, read together, or review homework. Small moments make a big difference.

  • Positive Behavior: Encourage your child to follow our P.A.C.K. expectations—being polite and prepared, paying attention to academics, cooperating with others, and showing kindness to all.

  • Communication: Stay connected with us through newsletters, phone calls, emails, and campus events. We value your voice and partnership.

Together, we are ONE VISION. ONE VOICE. ONE PACK. With your support, we know this school year will be full of growth, joy, and success for our scholars!

Congratulations to our scholars whose writing was selected to advance to the district Rising Writer's Expo! These student pieces are additionally potential medal winners, which will be awarded at Dekaney High School on Thursday January 29. All of these writing pieces will first be displayed and celebrated at the Expo, then it will be moved to a display on our campus for all to enjoy. Our scholars are: Kaylee Tran, Cali Montgomery, Jules Hicks, Audrey Kwan, Katherine Tzunux, Aubrey Skinner, Jamie Vu, Victoria Vazquez, Jeremiah Dailey-Jones, Demarcus Robertson, Litzy Alvarado-Hernandez, and Cataleya Anderson.

Our School Store fundraiser has gotten off to a great start with 155 scholars participating in the first few days. Parents and scholars can still participate by signing up at https://www.schoolstore.net (school code is 28873) and registering for an account. Families that send out 8 emails for each of their scholars will enable your child to receive the animal hugger/book buddy prize, and there are additional incentives which are detailed on the website. Thank you so much for supporting this "fun" fundraiser!

PLEASE ALLOW YOUR SCHOLARS TO GET TUTORING SUPPORT

Scholars received their 4th & 5th grade Tutorial Permission Slips last week. Thank you for signing and returning them. If you still need to do so, no worries, you can send it can be turned in on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Even if you checked the "NO" box, please return the form.

It is imperative that every invited scholar attends tutorials on the outline days so that their score can increase from the previous year. The State of Texas requires ALL 4th & 5th grade scholars to make more growth than they did on the 2025 STAAR Assessment in Reading & Math.

You will receive a copy of your signed persmission slip for your returns. Please make note of the specific days your scholar(s) should be present.

  • Tuesday & Wednesday Tutorials are for those scholars who are at Approaches(close to grade level) based on academic data from The Texas Education Agency.

  • Saturday Tutorials are for those scholars who are at Did Not Meet (well-below grade level) based on academic data from The Texas Education Agency. More time is needed to support them with basic and on grade level skills to maximize their growth.

*******************************************************************************************************

REMINDER: Safety, Security, & TES Traffic Flow Plan

Your continued support is needed with following the established safety protocols set on campus to ensure the safety of all scholars.

1. When dropping scholars off to campus, please do not leave scholars on the school property before 7:35am as there will be no adult supervision before that time.

2. Please do not drop your scholars off on the curb or sidewalk. Please utilize the car rider line to ensure a potential accident does not happen.

3. If you walk your scholars to school, please do not enter through the doors beyond the cones but rather stop and allow your scholars to enter and walk to class.

4. Please be sure that your scholar(s) is in their grade level dress code daily.

5. Please be sure that your scholar(s) arrive between 7:35 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. This will give them time to eat their breakfast before it is over and instruction starts at 8:05 a.m. sharp

6. If you drop your scholar off after 8:05a, you must walk them into the building and sign them in at the front office.

7. Please be sure that your scholar(s) have their transportation tags daily: (Car rider, Bus, Daycare, Walker/Biker)

8. Lost tags will incur a cost to be paid at the front office for new ones.

9. If you plan to pick your scholar(s) up early, make sure it is before 2:45 p.m. We will not be able to release anyone scholar(s) after this time to ensure that their is no interruption in the dismissal process.

10. Please understand that we will not allow routine transportation changes for any scholars. Choose one mode of transportation so that there will not be any chances of scholars being lost. This aids all staff and Guest Teachers in knowing the one mode of transportation for a scholar.

It is necessary that all protocols are followed daily and consistently to ensure the safety of all scholars and staff. We appreciate your diligence and support.

Thank you,

Principal Day
